My 1st ever AR build (Completed April 20th )

So you did get the eliminator? Sweet...I'd be completely surprised if you aren't blown away with it. I've just started another build and I'm toying with getting another...sheesh, the wife's going to kill me soon :D

Im leaving for a 3 month course to Gagetown on Monday so I will order it sometime this week...

Im also gona get the longer 12 inch YHM freefloat rail to complete the awsomeness...

lol...

Where did you get the muzzle brake from? (Phantom 5M1) Looks pretty cool. But you said you were not impressed with it? Now I want to build one.

Got it from the US... Its a great comp that does it job well... but its way to freaking loud for me...

Damn looks like you got the last one! I wanted a last minute Xmas gift for myself and they are sold out now....

Sweet looking AR build !

I canceled my Wolverine order since its B.O and bought it from Al Flaherty's hes got a few left still... ;)

WoOt WoOt...

And he matched wolverines price as well... :p

Really nice looking AR!

Thanks for posting the details and where you got the parts, thats really informative.

The NEA lower parts kit, did that include a trigger assmbly? how is the trigger pull on it?

(sorry if you already answered that, but I didn't go through the entire 10 pages :D )

I was so excited after my initial zero, that I forgot to put the ear defenders back on... I can tell you I only did that once... holy phuck that hurt...

lol I did that once..... And only once, when I got my AR and took it out for the first time, I was so excited after setting up my targets and sighting in... I totally forgot my ear pros.... Needless to say, that was the last time I forgot

The range looks really familiar.

Is that the same range that Scott (Gungeek on Youtube) belongs to?

Shot 100 rounds today not 1 malfunction .... This thing is awsomme.... Now I dont know if these are groupings are any good ... let me know....

Nice build, I'm jealous as you guys in Canada get to have the short barrels.

I've built two ARs now and looking for an excuse to build another as it can be addicting. I'm not really saving much money building them as complete ARs have come down in price here in the US now.

I built the first one without any special tools but bought the tools from Brownells for the second one and it went much easier. I highly recommend them.

My first is a DPMS M-4 copy with a Burris 3X red dot on it. The second is a S&W lower with a Rock River mid lenght upper and an EOTech sight. Both are 16 inch barrels, our minimum lenght here. Sorry no pictures as my camera is broken.
I'm thinking my third build may be a coyote gun and maybe 6.8 caliber. I have a couple friends with them and they love the cartridge.

but we can only shoot them at certified restricted range, you cant even shot it at your own farm, and only 5 round mag or or ugly 10rnd pistol mag (loophole in the law)

nice build by the way =)

That's a shame and not the Canada I left for the states all those years ago. Our second ammendment protects us here but with the current administration that too may be on shakey ground in the years to come.
Not to rub it in but I just unpacked a shipment of 5 20 round AR mags from Brownells and another 420 rounds of Lake City Federal M855 green tips. I'm still free to blast those away in my backyard yet am not sure how much longer I may have those rights.
I'm not sure how much attention you fellows pay to the politics in the states but 2012 will be telling about our gun rights here. I fear my right to own an AR and how I can use one may be up for grabs in the near future.
I understand I can reclaim my Canadian citizenship and might be joining you one day soon.

Well big update... Got some sights... Sold my 9 inch rail and Ordered a 12 inch so I can mount the ATRS AT15 eliminator Brake... Here are some pics of the optics... I like the SPARC better, But since its on my .22, I might have to order an Aimpoint and sell the Eotech.
