What do you think of the $75 SKS

I really like mine.
It isn't a factory 26 gun like the website said, but big deal right? The numbers match, barrel isn't pinned, reciever is machined (as opposed to stamped), and everything is in good shape so I can't complain.

I'm gonna need more than 1400 rounds though! :ar15:

Again I dont understand why you bought from Marstar! You have not taken the time to compare prices. You can have a Russian SKS with 1000 rounds from Trade Ex for $ 369. And it's free shipping! I'm sorry, it's cheaper than Marstar sks and it's Russian!

I wish Tradex had the special on when I ordered mine from Marstar , sounded good but the shipping is ridiculous , ammo rifle and tax are 396.48 but with the shipping it was 544. 12 to the door and the ammo is two weeks in transit. You heard it right and they didnt even have the decency to contact me and let me know , just charge it to the card

Update, I recieved the rifle today and am very pleased with it, A word to the wise if you go this route , get a shipping quote first.

I had brought 80 thinking that it would be enough for a little bit of shooting but wow did i ever blow through it fast, My only complaint is that the ammo was not on stripper clips, they only gave me one. So i got a ton from my buddy and sat in front of the tv with brew and got my little lady to put them on the clips. she had done 30 in the time i did 13 :-O

who has picked up the tradex sks? How did she look? The sks in their pic is a real looker.....

I am trying to decide between the tradex w/ a potentially nicer sks but less ammo or the marstar and more ammo but lesser quality sks?

Maybe marstar will make up my mind for me with the shipping quote...see what they say.

where is marstar located?

that 150 dollar shipping makes sense now ammo is heavy and shipping goes by weight i always wondered if those online ammo deals were a good deal... only if you can pick up i guess. i can buy it in my local shop for 320$ per 1200 rounds plus tax of course.

Alright...for me its 429$ marstar total with shipping or 369$ trade ex with shipping....consensus? I am leaning on trade ex, although people seem pretty happy with the marstar package as well.

That's 400 rds for $60. I'm debating the same right now, and also in yyc.... I'd like to order. Guess you also have to consider Russian vs. Chinese, I can't find a decent consensus on this. Maybe we can combine an order and save?

Remember that the quote you got from Marstar for shipping is an estimate only. Expect the shipping to be close to $100 to Calgary. I paid $29 to ship the SKS and $67 to ship the ammo from Marstar to Edmonton.

Well, I took a few more looks at the pic of the Russian SKS and I couldn't control myself....I went with the russian and ammo package. You really cant beat the free shipping out West, and the Russian is such a nice rifle.

Cant wait for it to arrive

I pulled the trigger on one today too (no pun intended....)....my first red rifle! Whoever that was manning the phone at Trade Ex was awesome...very entertaining guy to talk to!

I had an SKS-D a few years ago - after I sold it I almost immediatly started to miss it, and for sure the 7.62x39 round. Although to be honest I always wanted just a standard SKS. The D did not really do it for me. Plus this way I get the blade bayo :)

i bought mine from marstar and i have to say im more than impressed with what i got, their brand new unissued military grade not commercial grade like others and 1400 rounds!!!! way worth it

I got an estimate on the shipping, and passed on the offer, still a sweet offer if you lived close or could pick it up. I could buy an sks locally and ammo and it would of cost the same if not less because of the shipping. And locally our deal is okay 389+Taxes and you get and 700 rounds I think, its either half or less than half a crate.
