Man I did my safety course about 2 months ago and am STILL waiting on my test report. Anyone else in the same boat? I'm finding the whole process incredibly tiresome, and can understand why some people hesitate getting into shooting. Maybe I'm just being impatient, but I would be more patient if I was waiting for the actual application to process, instead of waiting months on the very first step.
On a separate note, thanks to the Shorten PAL sticky I mailed my application off last week without the attach test results box checked, so just waiting for that to show up online. Has anyone else done this? And how did you send in your course report once you got it?

8 weeks is very high. First, I'd call your course provider and make sure it was sent and received properly. It may have been returned to him/her for some reason (postage for example). If yes, ask what date it was sent.

Second I'd call the Ontario CFO's office. You can reach them by calling the CFC number, press 1 for english, then 5 for "ATT inquiries". This is the proper way. You can also find the direct phone number on this thread (I'm at work and the 'net connection sucks so I can't search for you). Once you get ahold of them it's "Hello, I'm callinging in regards to a lost set of CFSC papers. They were mailed out 8 weeks ago to your office. I know you guys are swamped but friends who've taken the safety course after me have already received their stamped papers back. How do I proceed in tracking these things down so I can get my application going?"

So i called, got through to a very pleasant lady, and used your script word for word haha. She forwarded me on to the firearm education something or other, and i left a message with my name birthday date of test and instructor so hopefully I will hear back soon. Thanks again, I'll let you know if i get a call

Yes, I did it this way in Nov 2011. Faxed the test results on a Monday (took about 5 weeks to get my test results back), interviews were done that Thursday (they called me) and my license was issued on the Friday of the same week (PAL/RPAL).

Awesome, you don't remember where you found the fax number do you? Or should I just call and inquire with the CFC when I get the test results?

My course was over the Halloween weekend (So Oct 31st) and I got my results back on December 10th.

Approx 5 weeks

I'd def call you instructor and the CFC, 8 weeks is quite a long time

They actually mailed me a piece of paper letting me know that my test results were not included with my application and that I had 7 weeks to provide them. The fax number was on the piece of paper. You'll probably get the same letter.
Anyway, the fax number is 1-800-411-0622.

I called them about the letter to verify what information they needed. They told me it was only the test results, all other info was good.

They requested the following information on my fax cover letter:

Name
Date
Address
Date of Birth
Number of pages
What is on each page (ex, Page 2 - CFSC Test Results)

Hope this helps.

That helps so much, thank you sir!

Just wanted to post this as a heads up for anyone in a similar situation, I just got a call back and was informed that they are way behind on processing course reports, to the degree that they are yet finished november. I was told to keep my eye open for it in 2-3 weeks, which brings the grand total to roughly 10 weeks.

The day CFC (Miramichi) receives your application (with or without the stamped exam results) IS THE DAY that your mandatory 28 days period starts.

My experience there is always a back log at Ontario CFO , Oct /Nov that cause Dec to back up.Some guys try and get Course and Pal done for "that" Nov hunting season but they dont realize it takes few months in for whole process in total. So due to more application/test result there has been a backlog Oct/Nov/Dec ??

Dave, do yourself a favor and go read the shorten PAL application sticky on the frontpage of this board. Basically what you are going to want to do is send in your application without checking off the box which asks if your test results are attached. Mail in the application so that the 28 day waiting period starts, and then fax or mail the results in when they finally arrive.
