Shorten PAL Approval Times

Is it possible to get your pal license number (and expiry) over the phone from the CFC once the license has been issued ?

If you have an existing pal, then your licence # wouldnt of changed. If you are getting your first, and its been issued, call them, and request it. There is no reason for them not to give you that info.

Should of included, first time.
Need the number/expiry so that my rifle order can be shipped out.
Called today, lady said they cant give out over phone. Ill keep waiting, maybe early next week itll be in my mailbox.

Well that's unfortunate, but you have to make your own decisions. Honestly it's too cold to enjoy learning to shoot right now anyway, so who cares if it's a month before you see anything? Gives you extra time to save for that firearm and ammunition for it.

I bought a pellet gun for the last 6 six weeks, just to have something :)
 
Well, completed the course November 27, recieved test results January 20, faxed off January 20, my waiting period is long over, I will call Tuesday, they gave my a ref number and an extention to call. I will do my interview, have my reverences call as soon as I complete mine. I hope to gave it by the end of January.
 
My father's was received on Nov. 4 and has "completed initial processing" He calls about once a week and they always say "Just a couple more weeks sir, this is normal." :(
 
just another thing about sending in your test results at a later date would be the fax number and info on the cover letter part..

Well they got my test results, updated my status, I will call tomorrow and see if I can get my interview, after that I will get my two references to call back to back, should be done by mid-week :)
 
Here are my timeline so far:

Challange CFSC and CRFSC test: Nov. 27th
Application Received (without test results): Dec 14th
Received and faxed Stamped Results: Jan 13th
January 16th: Called CFC, got interviewed. Had references call for interview same day.
January 17th: Called CFC, application forwarded to CFO.
January 18th: Call CFO, confirmed that everything is in order.
January 23rd: Called CFO, application with supervisor .. Left VM.

And forgot to mention that this is in Ontario.

My application was recieved two days before yours and I have also been told it is with the supervisor they told me it will be another month yet I will post when it is approved.
 
FYI Just called ont CFO, they recieved my papers on the 18th and they are a month or so backlogged but she approved me over the phone. I have a common name so there was a hold up but is now pushed through.
 
just to update, called the RCMP and my application has been approved. Just waiting the 28 day period, which ends a week todayt.
 
Called cfo today (halton region) and was told that she hadn't even looked at it yet and that she'd get around to looking at it in the next few feeks. Miramichi sent it to cfo last week of december. Are they stupid or think that I am?!?
