Shorten PAL Approval Times

My application was for a new RPAL (I.E. not an upgrade from PAL either).
I was in the same situation as you. Called every day, and got forwarded to a supervisor. Left her a couple of messages and never received a call back.
For some reason today, the phone rep offered a bit more information than I usually got from the phone reps. and after validation of the "missing" form, she approved the application on the phone.

I just tried to get my PAL number by calling in (a few hours ago now) and they said they don't give that info out. Do I have to ask for my provincial CFO when I finally get through to someone there? If so, does anyone have a number for them?
I am going for a trip on Saturday, on which I hope to bring a rifle that will be gifted to me home. Though I don't expect to encounter any issues, I would certainly like to know my PAL number so that if anything does occur, I at least have that.

I read somewhere here that as soon as your application shows up on the website that you can call in and bug them. Is this correct? My app was online on the 25 and said it was received on the 17th. So I can call now and they wont get all pissy?
I'm sorry if this has been answered previously but considering the vastness of this thread I dare not read the whole thing to find the info I need because I probably would be dead and wouldn't be able to enjoy my PAL
I have sent in my application as of today it says they received it 2012/01/19 and I took the course on the 7th of January to which I have not received my test results back.. here is my actual question.. is there someone I can contact to see if they've looked over my tests and or can they find them so they will be looked over quicker??

I took mine in Brantford on the 7th (with my wife) and our CRFSC the week after.......states online they received mine on the 18th (maybe we took the course together)......that being said, from what I am gathering, the Ontario CFO is a month or more behind right now......not sure if it would help calling them or not......
You should have received 2 copies of your Non-Restricted test, and 2 copies of your Restricted test if you also took the restricted course. You only send 1 copy (of each, if you applied for restricted). The second original is for your records.
This can't be said enough times; Send it express post, signature required.

Got my test results back Dec 22nd (i waited to send app, saw this thread too late)
Sent my app in on the 23rd but due to xmas and what not longer wait.
Recieved by RCMP on january 3rd 2012.
Had it sent to Ont CFO january 18th and approved teh following week
Day 28 my license has been issued.

That seems like an excessively long time........in Ontario? Did you call them or your CFO? Answer "yes" to any of the pertinent questions on your application?
