1911's Pics Thread

I like that worn look.
Who made the frame? Is the lanyard loop a bit bent?

It is a Colt M1911, unfortunately at some time in its life the USP markings and inspector's stamp were removed. Yes the lanyard loop is bent. Given the condition of the rest of the pistol, I chose to leave it that way rather than replace/straighten it. It has very little finish remaining, I tried being careful about choosing similar condition parts to minimize the "pieced together" look. The other problem is that the trigger face was ground smooth, but I haven't come across a suitable replacement yet. If I recall correctly, the grips came from a Government Model, but they seemed to suit the condition of the pistol.

I received this Series 70 yesterday, still in box with original paperwork. Previous owner (not sure if he's a member here) never fired it in the 30ish years he owned it.

Very nice, GunGuy34. Not usually partial to the external extractor, but I'm digging the american flag and dog tags.

One day I'll buy a 'proper' 1911. But this'll do for now.
