holy f**k...how did I miss this ranting post....I am usually in there with my attitude. LOL

Right now....my eyes for an AR would be an STI,....an Armalite, or an NEA 10.5". I had two Armalites and they worked very well. ONly thing the STI needs is a magwell....and the NEA would need the same with a JP spring kit. I would buy a Norinco,..as I have seen them locally and the shooters said they work well;....but I like my North American firearms.

who knows,..the Norc might last a long time,..but I prefer to know that my firearms are going to be reliable with a proven record.

Is there somthing wrong with you, do you allways turn simple things into acts of violence?? Do you act that way when you are around other firearms owners?? You may want to get some help with that.

The person called me a douchebag and a mall ninja, a direct insult to me, he knows the rules and could be put of a" perment vacation" from CGN for doing that.

No where have i directly insaulted anyone, just simply asked why people with good incomes still buy cheap AR15,s.
Did i say thay people were stupid or have a low IQ for buying cheap ar15,s
I just simply wanted to know why.
I have been on CGN since before the begining and am getting very disapointed and the reactions of many of the members.
If someone as well known on CGN as myself cant even ask somthing as simple as this, what chance to we as gun owners have against the Libs!!

As for the "other guy" its a free world post why you want , but try and do it in your own thread next time;) im getting killed hear for doing a little bit of market researchbbb

I do not understand how you can do market research in a open forum. This medium is so full of Brand Whores and Fanboys any input would be flawed. Here is a question, if Norinco and all the higher priced AR15 markers all built lets say a standard M4 without any branding all built the same. Would you be able to tell the brands appart?

OK I misread your post. Thought you meant make him "disappear" as in the Robert Deniro kind of way.

I don't think your first post was off base, it was the other guy insinuating that cheap ARs will only lead to poor, retards going on shooting sprees.

I forgot to mention that just because one lunatic goes nuts and shoots others (whether rich or poor; smart or stupid) it does not mean that we should limit the right to bear arms. Punish people when they ACTUALLY COMMIT a crime not because they MIGHT. That is the epitome of the Nanny State the douche bag liberals are trying to create.

WOW! Read through all 24 pages. Entertaining to say the least. I laughed so hard at some of Leiber's posts ( elitist much?) and even more at some of the replies to them. Some of the pics in this thread are golden.

Anyway, I think that more people are buying cheap AR's because:

They can only be shot at the range.
A lot of people on these forums swear buy their Norcs.
People have budgets.

Not too many people who can afford a few high end ARs probably shoot their Norcs much.
If they even own any....anymore. I would imagine that most people that own Norcs and shoot them a lot will eventually buy higher end stuff if/when they can afford.

My 2 cents.....

Depends, top tier manufacturers spend alot of time & money stress testing & heat treating their materials, they they usually have some kind of mark stamped on certain parts to certify that the above has indeed been done. The manufacturing processes are alot different from lower end to high end. I guess if the markings are there you could tell the difference. Just because they look similar doesn't mean they're the same.

What's with the cheap hunting rifles? Why would someone buy a Remington 710 or 770?

:D

I hear buying a new $399 savage axis hunting rifle makes you SUPER CRIMINAL and SUPER POOR.

I mean, you can buy 2 of those for a Norc ar!

Half the price, twice the street cred.

Savage Axis, for the true ghetto gangsta. You heard it here first.

If the Norc M4 truly offered such great value beyond an attractive entry-level price, there would be no desire to so extensively modify or upgrade it - and in fact, I would actually argue that the ability to do so through its lower price is probably its greatest appeal.

Bingo! Give the man a prize! This is EXACTLY why the Norcs are popular.

Inexpensive, inexpensive and Customizable. You buy them on the cheap. Shoot the hell out of them. Then make them LOOK LIKE an expensive AR that you dreamed about but couldn't afford.

Then you enter the service rifle competition and win with your so called "time bomb" and win because you're in better shape than all the rich old guys that paid a lot of money for their status symbol.

Sounds like fun to me. I'm in! :D

Again I fail to see where I directly called you anything.....
As for your reply, well, I can take it.......can you?

To be fair, although I believe the thread you started was along the same vein as the other posters comments I think it spun way out of control and that was probably not your intent. I do however think you were sitting back and very much enjoying yourself until you realized that the tide had turned against you.

I wonder what your reaction would have been had the thread been about people with f**ked up priorities that choose to spend thousands on an AR while their families go without or their duplex is falling apart or mamma needs a boob job or.......

I personally don't see how either should matter but then again take it with a grain of salt. After all I do own a budget AR:D

Come on dude...you posted this flamebait thread...I don't care if you are a sponsor, you can't go crying to the mods when the angry proletariat call you names.

If this was a subtle troll thread...well done!

If you were seriously expecting to poop on peoples guns and not get called names...this thread is an epic fail.

You know, I don't even really like the AR15. I bought an ATRS upper and lower setup and was going to build my own to get into an AR. Then I remembered why I don't even like the AR15. I have way more respect for my buddies Norc then I do for my ATRS. One, he has paid way less than I have and his shoots. I decided an AR15 build wasn't worth spending my money on, so I went $1600 into my build, bailed on it and I'm taking a loss. If I had just bought a Norc, instead of trying to get a Canadian made, I'd still be shooting it. The Norc is "cheap" enough for me not to care that I didn't put it together.

Why didn't I buy the Norc? Even to a lessor extent, why didn't I wait and then buy a NEA AR and make Dave's blood pressure go up with my petty complaints?

To go back to the very beginning, I personally would never go buy a lower end AR. For me it's a waste of money because I'll only regret not get the one I really wanted. But I think that is true of everything in my life. I appreciate quality.

In the end we all have to live with our decisions and if you are OK with your NEA or Norinco or Armalite or Bushmaster, then who am I to say different.

As another point, I do find that the less experienced shooters will usually pick the first thing that comes along and then defend it to the death when someone says it's junk.

Just because it fires when you pull the trigger and you've put a couple thousand rounds through it on the range, does not make it quality. That just means the manufacturer isn't so incompetent and they can build a rifle that functions. After you have owned and built a bunch of ARs and shot tens of thousands of rounds through different types, you will understand why some get called junk while others enjoy the quality reputations that they have earned.

Well said!

Well, I looked at this thread yesterday and thought “that is an interesting question, when I have some time I will read it through and would like to offer some input.” Needless to say, I came back today and it appears it has gone of the deep end. *Sigh* Ahhh… CGN you never seize to amaze me.

LOL!!!
No not even a little bit, our products are world class, being offered at a fair price , no one need convincing to buy S&J brand products.
Im just simply asking, as i want to understand why people driving 50k cars living in a 400k house wearing $40 t shirts that call themselfs gunutz are buying the largest amount of cheap firearms products.
I understand the the shooters that have little to no money, and i understand the ones that this may not be there main hobby.
But why buy the cheap stuff, is it not better to ride in style then to ride at the back of the short bus??
bbb

Maybe cause they have their money tied up in their $400K house and other priorities rather than their hobby.

Oh, and thanks for the short bus comment. I was thinking that this tread was not your fault but comments like this put you in the same class (or lack there of) as Leib.

I'm on the "never deal with S&J" bandwagon after this.
