Hey guys and gals,

I was wondering if anyone knew what the barrel tenon length would be for a Stiller Tac 300 action, with 3/16 recoil lug? I have done numerous web searches and found very little on the subject and what I have found is inconsistent. Any info would be appreciated.

I have also been reading some long range books and info on rifle builds. I am in the midst of doing my first custom LR Precision rifle build and there is one term that comes up every now and then that I think I've figured out what it means, but am not sure. The term is CYLINDER LENGTH. I think it is the length of the straight portion of the barrel leading from the front of the action, before it contours. The meaty portion housing the chamber. Am I right?

Thanks

The drawings are on the Stiller site, the Tac 300 is likely similar to the TAC 338, but you can call Stiller and they will confirm for you.

wouldnt it be easier to contact stiller?

Seeing as it was already Friday evening when I got curious about tenon length, it wouldn't have been easier. They're closed for the weekend and I knew someone on here would have the info so I wasn't wondering all weekend.

I don't know how I skipped over the diagram on Stillers web site. Thank you for posting the link.

I'm also happy to know I was right about the cylinder length, even though I may not have laid my description out the best.

The book I was reading was talking about cylinder length and why the author liked a certain length and diameter on his rifles.

Thank you for the responses.
