Sniper Challenge

All volunteers and participants will be welcome to shoot the Canada's Finest Event. If time permits on the final afternoon we will have an open range for a few hours for people to plink at the targets at extended ranges and share toys. All range rules will apply. There will be no Spectators, this will be a closed area only open to compeditors and volunteers. We are sorry, but way to many liabilities and inconvieniances to the land owner.

Crappers :D accomodations will be made :p
Power....no we are in the toolies and this isn't a Kool Aid Drinking Wanna Be match ;).

Water yes all over the place, lakes, streams, cattle waterers, if they can drink it so can you.:p we are sourcing a bottled water supply for drinking purposes.

Yes there is a cost to this event and it will be posted in the match package once we have an accounting of total cost's . Our Chief Financial Officer Jimbo is still working out the budget and the number of teams we can accomodate. Be assured everyting will be communicated well in advance. We will also be in contact with those that offered to volunteer and gratiously offerd targets and other kit. This is just a heads up of the course of fire and basic match structure to keep ya all on the hook and let you know we are working hard.

If anyone is interested in donating prizes or match supplies please PM Jimbo as he will be actively seeking sponsors and donations to keep match costs down to the compeditors.

Thanks hope this helps clear some things up.

Thanks for the reply. I will keep in touch with Jimbo. I offered to volunteer and not spectate in case you wanted to know.

Thanks LR Canuck for the course of fire details. Sounds great so far!

Thanks Hend, we are totally stoked about this match and what we have in store for the compeditors. It's kinda like a parent watching his Kid's open thier gifts at Christmas for us. Jimbo and I came up with an idea today that hurts like hell keeping it a secret cause we know the reaction its going to bring on the shooting line. We will be the ones laughing our arses off while all the shooters are going WTF!! what are we going to do now? and the clock is ticking!! :D

I have to admit I don't mind all the secret squirrel stuff. Do your worst! My partner and I frequently talk about "what if" when we discuss this shoot. We're trying to come up with strategies for the unknown. I quite enjoy it actually. I'm just stressed the demands of my job will prevent me from attending. The sooner you carve a date in stone the better. Please!! I'm sure I speak for everyone.

Sounds like a lot of fun, should have my rifle all back together by time this happenes. Just need a partner now, If anyone needs a partner from Sask i have about a decade of experience in UKD without using a wind meter or a rangefinder.

We will make this our next priority. I will be home this weekend and we are planning to head out to location and do some more range finding work. We will try and meet up with the land owner and discuss the best weekend dates for the match and hammer it down. At this time it will be either the first or second weekend in May. This is our only late season window prior to livestock arriving, that we will have access to the land. We are shooting for the warmest weather window. We are hoping that by holding the shoot dates off till the later weekend, it will present us with the best weather oportunity.

Hend, what weekend is best for the Bell 206?:p

I can't wait for this it sounds awesome.

I have one question though, would it be beneficial for the spotter to have a semi-auto?

With deep regret we will have to postpone this years event due to work and other commitments with some of our planners over the planned time of this years event.

On the positive it gives us more time to work at putting together a better event for next year or early this fall, and dry running some of the match events to work out any bugs. I will be in touch with individuals who may be interested in comming up on an odd weekend to dry run some events on a small scale. If this is something that interests you drop me a PM, at the least it will give you a chance to take some long range shots.

We will start a new Thread when all our ducks line up.

Thanks for the interest.
