I am going to look into getting that part of the bolt that broke on chico's gun fabricated (long shot) it looks cast which may be why some are snapping. One of my sons is Taking engineering and may be able to take mine and make a design program ,then if I can find a fabricator to mill one out of steel or stainless. Like I said ,a long shot, but I think sooner or later this part will break on most of them.
I think we should also move this thread to the shotgun forum, so we can follow one anothers work at making this puppy more reliable!

Mine showed up today. Not half bad...bluing is okay, some scratches on the slide and receiver, but I bought it as a beater, so don't really care. Functionality seems okay...haven't shot it or loaded it, though. Only trouble is that the front sight bead is about 1/8" to the left of center! Guess I will have to install some type of different sight.

AND! for those concerned about pot metal receivers? NOT THE CASE! Mine is machined steel, and is VERY beefy. If I have to drill and tap for a rear ghost ring or a picatinny rail, there is LOTS of meat to hold the screws.

All in all, for $100, it will do nicely!

Thanks again for the deal, Chemist!

I hate arguing on the internet, but you are dead wrong. I know what steel looks like when it busts, and I know what these guns look like when they bust. I'm sure there's steel in the mix, I'll grant that. As for beefiness, I can tell you haven't owned a lot of shotguns...this thing almost looks like it's based off a pump action rifle rather than a shotgun.

For you guys having problems, all I can say is "I told you so". Folks are so easily blinded by an attractive price tag, I know I was when I bought one of these piles of ####. For those that haven't, keep shooting it, eventually you're going to see pieces falling off.

Wonder if there is a parts supply for these or if this could be fabricated?

that is scary!

Looks like the locking lug broke at the factory during test fire (one round? High pressure test load?) then boxed it up. I would hope I am wrong.. but it does really look like friggin cast iron that lug is made of.. maybe it is the pic, or the stress of explosive fracture... just looks porous like cast iron in the photo...

Makes me scared to shoot my Norc HP9.. lol I have shot turkey loads and rifles slugs out of it with no prob so far tho.... hmmm

keep an eye on them cheap azz lockin lug/bolts guys n gals :)

I'll second that notion pm when you find out;) I just got home from a meeting low and behold 3 wonderful packages await to be opened! 2 780's and 500 rounds of PMC XTAC. It's like christmas only in January... so it's like a late Ukranian Christmas lol. Whence I finish reading the rest of this thread we'll have a lil' looky:D

CP dropped mine off at 8AM... didn't think they delivered that early. Gun looks good besides the mag tube being a little crooked which pulls the barrel of center. Pictures and range report to follow!

I got mine yesterday.

Looks like she's gonna be a single shot, unless I get around to fixing her massive feeding issues. Meh, still worth it.

I'm happy for the price.

Won't be treating her like my 590, that's for sure. Under the seat it goes.

Well I had a chance to take the bolt out of my 870 and 780 tonight.

The 870 is on the left and the 780 is on the right. I took the 780 bolt apart, one pin at back and she all falls apart.

I was going to take my 870 bolt apart to compare the internals with a caliper but my 870 bolt pin is held in place with resin.

Anyhow, I put the 870 bolt carrier over the 780 Norinco carrier and I noted they are the same size but slightly different

The 780 bolt carrier has less metal cut out as can been seen at the top pf the photo and the 870 carrier has an extra notch cut out at bottom.

Well, now for the important part, the locking block assembly...they look about the same:
Bottom view, 780 locking block is apart from bolt, 870 bolt is assembled.

Considering there is a fair amount of play in the locking block within the bolt and since they appear to be the same size and shape, I certainly would try a Remington locking block as a replacement.

awesome, thanks for sharing :)

Excellent,I dont have to try getting one fabbed up ,I took mine apart today to clean it up and as you can see by the above pics the 780 is cast and the 870 I believe is not or if it is its done with better metal . I filed and honed mine to get the ridges off and also filed and used a stone on most of the other sharp or rough surfaces. Then I used lubriplate and oil on everything I could find. Now for a nice day to hit the range ,,see if I can't break her. It is true , the thing is so cheap that I won't be afraid to pick at it and try my hand ( with your folks guidance) at repairs and mods ,good to learn on!
