Short attention span I guess!!!! I gave many ideas... Plenty of chirpers on here, but that is all it is.Chirping...Quite crying..Organize, and fight, Same way the natives got the hunting rights..Whats holding you back, got a piano tied to your arse???

Wild guess here, but I'm assuming you belong to these special rights groups, as you seem to think it was through their "hard work" they achieved these hunting rights. Laugh2

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Like I said before...If every hunter who was against the native hunting rights quite buying licences the government would pay attention...

Anyone who is a descendant of the first immigrants has a herritage of hunting to survive..Where do you think they got their meat, Loblaws? This is a good base for argument....

Seems to me some Metis and "Self described Metis" shot an animal out-of-season in the Cypress hill's park, then phoned the Game warden to come and get them. Wanted to extend some rights to hunt in court I think.
Turned out poorly if I recall correctly. It's been a while since it all went down so I'm fuzzy on the specifics; that and I'm burning the midnight oil so I'm definitely fuzzy, LOL.
I 'm happy with the way it turned out; thumbing your nose at wildlife management isn't really that cool IMO.

If every hunter composed a short letter and mailed to his/her MP in Ottawa...no postage necessary... regarding his/her feeling re: Metis hunting rights then some crustys would be rubbed out of more than a few eyes over in Disneyland. One does not even have to leave your home. Aboriginal hunting is etched into stone and will never go away... until the last animal is killed.

Half a million letters that have to be responded to would be huge. People that take 10 minutes or so to actually write something these days most certainly would also take the time to vote.

If this would have happened when the gun registry was being spawned by the former Liebrals, then likely the whole fiasco would have never happened!

I'll ##### if i want to. And I have phoned my MP and provincial MLA which proves nothing. And my point was that indians, hippys and activists can hold "large protests" because large amounts of them dont work. Its kind of hard for large amounts of people that work, to get time off at the same time to go hold a large protest. And not everyone in Canada lives within 2 hours of Ottawa.

And what is #####ing accomplishing?? SFA....Believe me, I agree, everyone should fall under the same rules. However, these are the current laws, and in order to change that it requires action.

Trust me, plenty of white hunters dont work...but apparently they are lazy and dont wish to voice their opinion.

Ontario is home to how many hunded thousand hunters?? I know of at least 30 that I know do not work, and that is just in my small community. You are telling me that hunters could not form a protest on parliament hill? I find that hard to believe.

Also send..letters like you stated to your MP...They won't ignore letters that number into the thousands...

Someone stated that native hunting rights are written in stone...The Indian act as we speak is going to be amended..Time to strike while the iron is hot...Perhaps a native tag system should be implemented...I don't see why not.. It has been in my area for moose...

Is it a provincial tag or a band tag? Some bands have actually implemented their own form of Natural Resources Management, where they issue big game tags.

Treaty (indian) hunting rights are enshrined in the Canadian Constitution - they ain't ever going away. However, metis "hunting rights" are not protected by the CDN Constitution as there are no signed treaties. In fact, the term "metis hunting rights" is a misnomer; no treaty = no rights.

You have to be careful what you say here. Example the Inuit people of the north had no treaties (they are not covered under the Indian Act) for a very long time with government and there is no doubt they hunted/fished/gathered without much government interferance.

I think a lot of Canadians are unaware the Fort Providence Dene (NWT) pulled local Metis into thier 1921 Treaty #11 with the Dominion.
Also the Labrador Inuit included under thier umbrella of rights, white English settlers who were neighbors in thier local eastern arctic lifestyle since 1940. These English surnames survive to this day up there. (Webb, Ford, Cartwright, etc)

Yep....most people that dont work are probably lazy. You are clever to figure that out. So what you are saying is that you have large numbers of white people that dont work that are within driving distance of Ottawa. Yet you beak off to working people 3000 km away about being "lazy" cause they wont protest on parliment hill. Also, you claim to agree that it should be an equal rights country? Have you protested on parliment hill???

If you don't like the laws in this country protest or move back to whatever godforsaken S__THOLE you came from. Oh wait I forgot unlike every aborigonal on the planet you have a job and you have no time to protest. I guess I'll just go pick up my welfare cheque and head on down to the liquor store and then to the Casino, no need to feed my kids till next month.

Can you come up with any more of those "aboriginal stereotypes" that we love so much.
