*resolved* Our firearms too scary for Toronto Sportsman Show

Hello,

My girlfriend and I were planning on attending your upcoming show but I would like to inform you that neither she nor I will not be attending. The reason for this is your disgraceful behaviour towards the firearms community. It is sad to see that, despite our victory in getting bill C-19 through third reading, many of the attitudes that allowed bill C-68 to pass are still present. I have no time, or money, for a show that bans guns based on looks, just like the Liberals did in the 1990's. In the time preceding your event, I will be putting my time and effort into ensuring that many gun owners know of this and boycott your show.

Sincerely,

cadgo

Strong worded, yes but anti-gun gun owners are worse than the anti's. They disgust me.

Ridiculous, I have a friend that sets up a booth at the outdoor ex show in Halifax and he has an entire booth set up full of black rifles, red rifles etc.

It's funny the airsoft #### is allowed but not actual rifles.

Great idea! May I suggest the Kitchener Auditorium as a venue? Easy to get to, just an hour west of Toronto so accessible to Hamilton and London; plenty large enough for our needs; lots of parking; and, best of all, I can walk to it. :D

First Annual CGN Tradeshow and Conference

It does have a nice ring to it :) We don't need no stinkin' Sportsmen show

too late for the spring hunting show?

I am going to the spring hunting show tomorrow at the international centre. I stopped going to the sportsman show when Miller took away the exibition site away for guns.

Maybe you can get some cheap last minute space! :D

Email sent.

To whom it may concern.

Id like to voice my opinion on an article i just read on the about your organisations decision to not let a company have a booth there due the look of their product. I personally have never been to your show and there is a good chance i never will, but when i read things like what you have told this dealer i have to speak up. Hunting and shooting are some of the sports that i enjoy, and in my opinion most hunters are not just in it to feed their families we all enjoy owning and shooting all kinds of guns. Your organisation may want to take the word sport out of your name for next year.

sportsman [ˈspɔːtsmən]
n pl -men
1. (General Sporting Terms) a man who takes part in sports, esp of the outdoor type.

Respectfully

A Sportsman

Target Sports set up a booth about 4 or 5 years ago. However, we took so much grief from 1) The CFO and 2) The organizers because of the restricted and black guns that we have not gone back.

E-mail the other vendors to let them know why you won't be there spending money at their booths. Also let them know that you support and buy products from companies that support your right to own firearms.

Email the guest speakers see if they agree with the BS the promoter is allowing

I hold no punches!

To Whom It May Concern,

I have recently received news that your show has decided not to allow a certain Canadian vendor from participating in the show in Toronto. This vendor sells legal non restricted firearms that despite being of a more tactical nature, are used by myself, and many others to hunt every year, and their popularity is increasing.

I find it absolutely appalling that such a decision has been made, as this vendor, and the users of such firearms have been so much a part of the current political battles being fought.

Considering we have made the first step in fighting for gun owners rights with the recent passing of bill C19, I consider this a black cloud on an otherwise momentous occasion.

Your organizations lack of support for this sector of the shooting community is an absolute disgrace to everything I and thousands of other gun owners stand for. I can only imagine that you would willingly throw the members of the shooting community who are not involved in hunting such as sport shooters, and restricted firearm owners under the bus even quicker than you have his vendor.

This is absolutely disgraceful, and bowing to the political pressures that I realize may be present here is no excuse!

If we cannot stand together and support each other in this fight we are bound to fail!

From here on in I will make it a priority to let everyone I know involved in the shooting community aware of this decision, and your opinions on these types of guns. I am a very active member at 2 popular ranges in Souther Ontario, and several online forums, and you better believe they will be hearing about this!

Sincerely,
--------
