Sorry, no pics of the exit wound....the bullet did not exit! All energy was absorbed, 60-70 yrd shot, bang flop.
thats what i was saying my friend. I think you read over the part where i said make your first shot count. what i was adressing is all the holier than though arses that will fire one shot and then watch the thing stumble around or let it run. Sure its dead but why not fire a quick second and have it down in sight. No where did i say machine gun through the bush and hope one round hits it somewhere.

Too bad. The shortness of the .308 avoids the problem being discussed in another thread; the problem of 7600's failing to eject live rounds due to long cartridge length.
On the other hand, imagine if there was such a thing as a short-action Model 7600 carbine in .308 & .243! Oh, to dare to dream!

Try oiling the shaft the pump/forearm slides over. Makes a quite a difference on most pumps. There is an o-ring in there that stops the pump from rattling and it will dry out over time.

The one factor that would keep me from buying Remington pump rifle is the trigger. Does anyone have experience with a good after market adjustable trigger with minimum creep & overtravel? I have seen one in the Brownell's catalog, but have no experience with it.

The factory triggers can actually be made pretty decent. A light polishing of the internals, and about one coil taken off the main spring will make the trigger a lot nicer. In addition you can drill and tap the trigger guard for an over travel screw, then you'll have a trigger as good as most bolt guns.
Hmm, bow hunters. Witnessed to many does and bucks hobbling around with an arrow stuck in them. One doe had two arrows in her, one in the neck and the second in her hind end. After the initial hit, and the deer is still standing or walking slowly I would put another bullet behind the shoulder or neck to relieve if from any more misery and pain. I guess that I'm fortunate that this has seldom happened to me.
