Bucket lists

I take a more philanthropic attitude towards my hunting, in that, while you hunt to feed your family, I am attempting to feed every hungry kid in the world, but I'm only one man.:D
Seriously though the meat is all used and the dollars I spend, in those mostly third world countries, helps to create employment and support the economy. The dollars also go toward game management programs, that keep their borders open to hunters, helps in the anti poaching programs and helps to educate the indigenious population in the value of game to them, and their need to protect it.
In countries that allow it, non-resident big game trophy hunting brings in more reveue per tourist than any other form of tourism. The money I spend for one elephant hunt and trophy fee in Botswana is roughly 10 times that of any other form of tourism, per person, in that country.
The money I spent on my Altai Argali in Mongolia was 30 times the average annual income in that country and that money contributed to many pockets, jobs and mouths there.
Prior to the closure of managed hunting in Kenya, it was the single largest industry, dollar wise, in the country. Now it's poaching and many many more animals are killed to bring in a fraction of what the hunting industry did. Wise decision, I think not.

Bottom line though is I do it 'cause I love it, but there is no downside to international big game hunting, everyone comes out a winner and the critter was gonna die regardless. This way he greatly benefits his country of origin and gets to live on forever on my walls.;)

But be careful...antis don't like to be challenged into re-thinking their beliefs.

By the way...what is that critter in post 94?

I dont have a bucket list really, i know i will go to Africa in the next 2 years, but i read something lately that had me thinking, they organize cougar hunt with dog out west and i would love to hunt one of those big cat, only had a chance to see a glimpse of one near Alexandria in Ontario 10 year ago while grouse hunting, was a very fascinating encounter... JP.

No one does, but if we do it in a rational manner, as I think I have, pointing out the benefits of worldwide trophy hunting, they may HAVE to re-think their position. I have done more for game conservation worldwide than any ten of them, add Ardent and Dogleg and another couple people I know and we together have done more than 100 antis and do-gooders have done in real financial assisstance.
This fact cannot be denied and I will show my receipts for moneies spent, let the antis ante up, so to speak.
We can be heard if we don't go off "all redneck and half cocked" and deal in the REAL finances of game conservation and it's ties to trophy hunting, we DO put more in than all the antis put together and we can win this debate hands down if we debate it at an intellectual and financial level.

Off topic sorry !!!

Sorry c-fbmi.... just saw this... yes, my mistake, the Rio Grande is part of the American grand slam... in Order to complete the American Grand Slam I will have to get Eastern, Osceola, Rio Grande and Merriam's..... To upgrade to the North American Grand slam I will have to head down to Mexico to get Gould's gobbler, which is the real trophy of the lot.....

I can tell by the way you are holding that Tom that turkey is not your forte... lol... also the fact that it appears you shot it with a rifle... That being said, I wouldn't know how to pose with a Brisbok.... nor did I know what one was until you started this thread....lol

So I'm willing to learn, where's your turkey pics with correct poses? I'll guarantee you must have some.
The 22 hornet is not appropriate for turkey? How the hell else do you hit them at 200 mtrs?
Glad you enjoyed the pics. Seriously where's your turkey pics?
