Sig P226 Mk25 NSWC (navy) *Unboxing*

That seems like a very good deal at cabelas... my guess is they are actually the certified used ones and they neglected to mention it on the website.

hmmm I don't think that is the case for a giant retailer like them.

The only way to find out for sure is by contacting them.

I think he was joking...

Lol, no, I wasn't, just venting in another thread. AFAIK, the major differences (that matter to us, not counting an ID code) are an actual standard 1913 Picatinney (sp?) rail, not the goofy roundified SIG one, phosphated internals (which I don't really think matter, as I've never seen a rusty trigger bar, and the MIM parts are so high in Mg that it'd take the better part of the next millenium to rust) and night sights, which I'd be replacing with FO anyways.

If they were CPO, you'd know it. Little too early for these models to start showing up as CPOs anyhow.

Deals comeand goes
With the current 10% off at Questar, still cheaper there
I bought my 226 Tac for 899 last summer from Questar

What about getting a SIG P226R 226R 22LR for $620, and then picking up the 9mm Caliber X-Change kit? Total cost of $992, but you get a .22, and a 9mm. Seems like quite a good deal.

Thanks,
Cal.

Yeah you can do that I guess.

I was going to do the same thing, but changed my mind. I am not going to cheap out. I want to get all stainless in nitron finish in 9mil. The challenge is to find one in stock not back order.

hey anyone else have one and a surefire x200 or x300 ?? does it fit on the rail ?? mine is super tight an have not forced it yet but think with a little pushing it would go....

as an aside the m3 insight light fits fine.

just got mine today in the mail, I LOVE IT :)

congrats...post some pics!!

my x200 fits fine...on my x200 i can tighten or loosen the fit by loosening the screws on the rails then adjusting their looseness.

Don't know about the Navy, but my 226 Combat required that I file about 1mm off the X300 mount in order to seat into the rail. The trigger guard is slightly different that the standard Sig rail. Also, this difference prevents the pistol from fitting properly in just about every holster without marking up the slide. Finally got a Serpa to fit a little better (they're not all exactly the same fit), but it still leaves marks on the slide. Sig 226 = :dancingbanana:

Pretty sure the P226 Navy and the Mk25 are the same gun. Cabelas is selling the Navy for $899. Regular P226 for $879.

The Navy is discontinued... it was the 'commercial version' that SIG used to sell, before SIG started selling the MK25 version now offered.

SIG cleared out the last of their in-stock Navy versions some months ago and that is why anyone who has any left is offering them at discounted pricing... we sold the last of our Navy models a number of months ago when SIG announced they would be releasing the MK25 versions.

One issue we used to have with the "Navy" model was that many were shipped from SIG without all of the internals having the phosphate finish as the actual NSWG guns came with... many of the guns we used to get from SIG arrived missing the phosphated internals and we had to get the correct parts from SIG and install them before selling them to customers... in the US there was a big deal about this on some of the forums because SIG posted that they sold the guns without actually claiming to include the phosphate internals.

If you can get the old "Navy" version and if it has the phosphate internals and 3 all steel magazines, then it's a great deal at the $899 Cabela's is clearing them out at.
