When my PAL/RPAL get issued and are being sent, can I phone the CFC to get my PAL number to get the number and I can buy a handgun with just the number?
Or will I be required to use the card?
Almost every online dealer I've dealt with so far (five so far) wants to see a scanned copy of my PAL, especially for restricted. Depends who you deal with. Some only want it for a first time purchase - I assume they note in their records that they've actually seen it.When my PAL/RPAL get issued and are being sent, can I phone the CFC to get my PAL number to get the number and I can buy a handgun with just the number?

My wife and I were given our RPAL#'s over the phone, the same day that our applications indicated completed online. This is in Ontario, however. Also have found that most dealers do want to see a copy of the PAL (front and back), but there are exceptions.......
Don't lie to the man. You know perfectly well that the best ones will be gone by then.
OP: You can buy and pay for firearms without any PAL; you just can't have them transferred to you until after you get your PAL.
If you know the number and buy online or by telephone you would just supply the seller your number, The only place I ever had to send to send a copy of my RPAL was SFRC.
I put a down payment on a gun without a PAL#. As soon as my PAL was approved I phoned my CFO office (BC) for my PAL# no problem. I provided that to the store and they were accepting of that. YMMV. I had my new gun before I had my new plastic PAL card or paper registration forms.
Damn. Yeah, I guess it depends on the store and what they are comfortable doing. I only know one place that sells PWS and they won't accept a pre-order without a PAL/RPAL number. No worries, I'll play it by ear.
The won't give it to you over the phone.
