February Purchases

Bought a Bodeo 1889 Officer's Model and a KNIL 1891 out of the Wolverine Sale I'm pretty happy with, the Bodeo in particular. Details down in the Wolverine picture thread. Also have two Mausers from the same sale waiting for me at the post office, pictures to follow tommorow.

February Milsurp Purchases

These are some of my February purchases. They may not be firearms but they are milsurps:

These were purchased for a display that I'm working on to commemorate my father's service in WW2. I have his 'walking out' BD blouse, ID discs, paybook, medals, papers, a few photos, his issue razor, issue whistle, field dressing, a magneto driven flashlight, cup, plate, his wartime lighter, boot brush, a ring that he had made out of a British silver coin and some books and manuals that he had in England.

I've also previously acquired a haversack, dewat Sten (though my Dad used a Tommy gun) and LB SMLE No.4 MK 1* rifle. Lots still to go.

Here's a few pic's of the SKS I just picked up. All numbers matching, milled reciever, screw-in barrel, never issued Chinese SKS. Nice cheap way to have some fun!

I have strayed...

Yea, but I have wandered far from the path of Lee-Enfield this month.

Everyone seems to be having so much fun with their Mosin-Nagants I decided that I needed to find out for myself.

I decided I wanted a pre-war, hex receiver, hardwood stock, as close to original configuration as I could get in the field of refurbs, and I need to give a big thumbs-up  to Jean at P&S who sorted through his inventory of hex models and hooked me up with this beauty.

1930 Izhevsk that, in my view looks like it might have back in the day. Pre-war stock and all.

Now to clean her up and see how she likes the Chinese 7.62x54r I got from SFRC.

havent seen a rasheed in about 5 years and sadly the man who had it had it destroyed then disapeared from the face of the earth but its nice to see all the french rifles surface sure hope the ammo will follow in the future

Bought these a few weeks back for my (work in progress) Polish prewar Poland/Holland 1944 display of Polish Army soldier that fought both at the beginning and at the end of WW2.

For such a short month, it was a good one.

Got rid of a Savage 300 Win. Mag., also.

Wanted to get the long guns before the massive price increases expected with the demise of the LGR.
