Best Deal on a Stripped Lower?

Thanks for all the great info guys - you are always very helpful.

NEA - I may buy one of your lowers to support the local guys. Just a quick question (and I hope I am not opening a can of worms - I am NOT an AR expert and just want to know): I looked at your site and noticed that you use 6061 aluminum vs 7075. It seems like most are using 7075. What is the difference between the two grades of aluminum?
 
I guess CADEX saw what ATRS is charging ..... So they upped their price

Prices on some items dropped over last years prices. ;)

Some one is blowing smoke up your a$$


The difference between some of us is we buy direct from Cadex, not through a distributor.

Very little between 7075 and the 6061-T6 we're using in this application.
 
Interestingly enough; I looked up the Cadex spec sheet and text part says 7051 Aluminum and the Specification side says 6061-T6 Aluminum.

The spec sheet is wrong. They were going to re write it but haven't had a chance yet.

Do You Do Custom Engraving and Serial Numbers? My ATRS Lower has my Sons birthday as the serial number :).

How about some nice pictures then..........:cool: (of the new, hot lowers)

I was using the discussion above as my basis for concluding the MSRP went up.

It was my error to not recognize that it was a single distributor that was charging that egregious price.

No, the machines we use are not set up for it. Serialization is done at the time of manufacture. Because we run them in large batches it's not economical to serialize them after they're made, which would allow us to do custom numbers. And because it's a CNC program and the machines we use, you can't just pull a receiver out in the middle of a run.

Pictures; yes, we're processing a bunch of pics. ;)
 
I haven't seen an ATRS one but the Cadex ones are really nice.

Some think billet lowers are the end all be all, I honestly can't see why, it's not like there's any bennifits over forged aside from some cosmetic stuff, and even then there's some forged lowers out there that offer those features. I think it's just nice to have the options personally.

As far as ATRS lowers and Cadex lowers... They command a higher premium because their machining is damn near perfect, absolutely no tooling or chatter marks, they come flawless. They're also made from 7075 which adds to the cost, some argue there's no difference, but in my experience more "heavy duty" is never a bad thing. With the billet stuff you get what you pay for simple as that...

We have Stag Arms stripped lowers arriving this week. Definitely not the cheapest, but maybe the prettiest hand finished US Milspec forged lower? Nice kit.

I can't believe we finally ran out of AP15 lowers, but we do have more AP15 uppers and lowers purchased and set to leave the USA very shortly.

It is up to the retailer, sell them all quick or have them sit on the shelf.

Questar made the right choice last year. They lowered the price of P-MAgs enough that we just snap the up by the hundreds.

Your price vs time available argument might hold water if you knew that both items came to market starting with the same quantity. Did they? We never advertised the AP15 lowers as 'limited quantity' because we had a lot of them to start with. Also, most products we sell are continuously resupplied, without the item ever showing as 'out of stock' on our on line store.

We had them available, continuously, for a long time, I am happy to say, because we purchased a boatload of them, figurative speaking. And we have another boatload about to leave port.

I expect to sell out of our next shipment of Stag Arms lowers (at ~$190) before we sell out of AP lowers at ~$140 because the Stag Arms lowers shipment IS small. A partial fill. If they come and go quickly, what will that prove to you? ;)

Most items on our site disappear rather than show 'out of stock'. The AP15 lowers will reappear once they're here.

We always take names, and can take 'no charge till transfer' orders for known arriving inventory.
