How Are The Dominion Arms Grizzly Shotgun 12.5s

How are the GR sights on these? Can you use a scabbard with them?

Yes can use a scabbard but careful inserting/extracting as the front sight can rip up the inside of it and tear material if you really jerk it out fast in a panic.

Really craving getting a dominon short shotgun for easy bush carry, 12.5". Are they really that much more convienent and easy to carry/pack than the 18.5" that I already have? An 8.5" seems cool but having only 2 shots in the mag seems of questionable usefulness. any thoughts or experiences to share?

They are much more convenient to carry than an 18.5. The barrel doesn't get caught on anything when you are stooping and ducking through Northern Ontario thick bush.

One thing they are not is ultra-light. I don't know what they weigh but it's no aluminoid Mossberg receiver. Still better than an 18.5" you have already.

The odds of running into something that needs scaring off are low already.
The odds of running into something that one shot won't make leave or die are really, really low, in most of this country. I am perfectly confident the DA backpacker my parents pack blueberry picking is plenty to make a black bear go away fast.
The odds of running into something that 2+1 won't finish off are, in my opinion, even lower, I just like repeaters so that's what I have.

What do you guys think on this situation. I have a Remington 870 express with an 18.5" barrel and a 2 round extension. Iv put on a Mesa tactical low adapter and a magpul stock and grip. And I ended up picking up a DA 12.5" barrel to put on it on hopes of making a shorty to carry in the woods. After about 50 rounds at the range I realized that the DA bead sight with out a riser block means my aim point is way off, but it makes a fun blaster! I have been thinking about putting ghost ring sights on it.

But it might just be a better idea to put the DA barrel on the EE and pick up a 12 grizzly or an 8.5 grizz. But would my Mesa tactical stock fit on ether of those? I put a tape measure besides my 870 and if it had a 8.5" barrel on it with the stock fully collapsed it would be 26" long..

What do you guys think? Is an 8.5 with the Mesa stock a good idea?

As long as it stays above the min OAL when collapsed, you are good to go

I'm sure it can be done Andy. Hack saw?

My buddy has a milling m/c so we could take just the blade off & cut a new dovetail into the top of the front blade base. However, found these screw in Tritium beads today :

Now can't decide between GR or just a plain XS big dot glued oved the plain bead sight..... gun will be for bush carry & when were out wheel'in in grizz country. Maybe just stick with the XS & put a pic rail on for an optic if I want to play on the range ?

I really like Until the Angels Fall's setup, here : http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5650078&postcount=795

Nice & clean with no fuss..... look sic too.... nice job :)

Thoughts.....

Any real difference between the Grizz and Norinco? I see the HP9 is identical but about $20 more.

Soon as I get tax return back I'm going to pick one of these up....

i was wondering the same thing,i wonder how the interchangability of parts with the remington stuff?

Same same, different label. "Dominion Arms" is CanadaAmmo's house brand. They have some minor cosmetic differences, but come from the same factory.

My DA Grizz has taken any 870 parts I've thrown at it. The only issue so far was that the fore-end wood from an 870 was a bit tight and needed to be fitted somewhat.
