Sellier and Bellot makes 7.62x39 in brass. My only thing to say about them is they work but my SKS beat the hell out of the brass.

There are other options for X39 brass in Canada, for less than a buck/round

You CAN buy 7.62x39 with brass cases. Retail modern ammo, not surplus, but you can get it.

You're paying for the pretty colored packaging. That's why it's a buck a round. The Hornady marketing guys are good. There are lots of suckers out there.

When one sponsor mistakenly post their info on another sponsor's forum they appologetically ask the forum owner to delete it. I've seen Ryan/Chemist do that. I'm sure Henry and Chris does the same.

Actually you're not. The brass case stuff is same as the Hornady self defense with nickle case which is similarly priced and well rated.

The marketing guys are good, they took good ammo, slicked it up, got us to buy premium ammo that we'd otherwise never buy but for the colorful box.
