I replaced the hammer and trigger with a Colt one and also replaced with a lighter spring kit. The trigger broke a consistent 7lbs and felt excellent.
Upon firing the gun at the range I was still getting the odd 2 and three round bursts.
I had fed 40rds through it and the handgaurd loosened off. I tightened the handgaurd and fired 140more rounds and never had 1 jam this time and the trigger felt great.
When I got home I took it apart to try and figure out the trigger issue.
I noticed that the disconnecter was not grabbing sometimes when dry firing.
I replaced the light springs with the factory NEA ones and after dry firing, it worked flawlessly. I think those springs were not compatible, but it seems good now.
I will have to try again next weekend and see if this works with live fire.
All in all I had fun with the gun and let others try it out.
Also the BCG bolts remained tight and staked so, so far so good.

Sounds like you need a new disconnector. Give NEA a call. Springs should not make a gun fire on reset, although you may need the colt disconnector to go with the colt hammer and trigger.

Yeah I thought the same, but when I put the NEA springs back in, it worked.
I agree though that the dixconnector is probably the problem and unfortunatly I did not get one with the Colt hammer and trigger as a matched set. I am going to have to contact NEA for a replacement, but I hope the replacement is between 7-10lbs otherwise they can keep it.

Disconnector for sure. Give us a shout HERE and we'll get a new one out to you. The recent issue we discovered with the triggers/hammers was actually discovered to be the disconnecter. We confirmed dimensions on all in stock and found some with short catch surfaces. The manufacturer has it sorted out and new ones are en route.
