100% accurate
Really? I've never seen nor read about a 100% accurate pistol. That would make competitions easy. I gotta get me one of those.
This is an interesting feedback and it shows that one man's medicine is another man's poison! I've talked to RCMP ERT team members (old timers) who loved the P226 and the DAK version was picked as their new duty pistol. The navy seals could choose any pistol they wanted (so did the British SAS) and they chose the P226. I use mine in duty pistol style competition and I love it. A buddy of mine, a captain and Swat team leader in Virginia, wouldn't go to the shower without his P226 in .357 Sig that has saved his life a number of times. I guess, if we all liked one pistol as the prefect one, we would not have a number to choose from, right?I have 5 years of experience using a Sig 226 with a daq trigger as a duty pistol. I have shot DA/SA Sigs Normal DAO Sigs and I can tell you its nothing to write home about.
For a duty pistol, it serves its purpose. Throw it off a cliff then off a wall and it will still cycle, but all in all, its not a reliable OR accurate pistol. I don't like the ergos, it has an extremely high bore axis and kicks like a mule compared to other 9mm pistols. For an accurate 9mm, I would go with the XD-9 with the 5 inch barrel if you're into polymer pistols. Personally I'm a diehard 1911 fan.
Even though I carry this pistol, I give it only enough trigger time to be familiar with the weapon platform. nothing more. To be blunt, I wouldn't take one for free, because if I didn't carry it, I wouldn't never shoot one again.

Fair enough. I also like my 1911's and many smaller departments in the U.S. use them (the Texas Rangers being the largest and best known but even they switched to P226). For a LEO who practices a lot and can control a crisp single action like in the 1911, they are great choice but.... My first P226 (German made 2nd generation) went through 120,000 rounds and 2.5 barrels. I had the grand total of six malfunctions all ammo related and one failure to go into battery because it was so filthy the chamber was nearly plugged!Yes, I know many that swear by it, and as a DUTY Pistol for putting bad people to sleep, it does the job quite well. Out of all the duty sigs I have access to, I have seen more of them have some sort of FTFeed than not. Yes, they are all maintained properly, in perfect working order. Maybe its just a bad batch of sigs.
PERSONALLY I can't get over the high bore axis or the trigger. In a perfect world I'd carry a 1911 or an XD45. Those are 2 pistols that work for ME. I'm simply giving my opinion on my experience with the Sig Sauer P226.
Could you tell me if the accuracy of the P226 is better than the CZ, Glock Beretta?
I don't want to do IPSC competition, just want to have some fun at the range. That's it. The quality assembling of the Sig, is it better?
