Could you tell me if the accuracy of the P226 is better than the CZ, Glock Beretta?

I don't want to do IPSC competition, just want to have some fun at the range. That's it. The quality assembling of the Sig, is it better?

I dont know much about sigs but i think the accuracy is in the hand of the user,I can shoot my beretta better then I could my colt 1911 it fits better in my hand and seems the most stable

I have a CZ and have shot sig and a few glocks. No difference. I wish I could say the CZ is the best ever but that would be silly. They all shot as good as I can shoot.

My Sig target is bang on

My experience from ransom rest tests (admittedly years ago) was that Sig P226 consistently outshot the G17 and the Beretta with most of the ammo tried. However, once you fold in the human and ammo variations, it's hard to predict which one will do best at any given time and with any particular shooter.

I have 5 years of experience using a Sig 226 with a daq trigger as a duty pistol. I have shot DA/SA Sigs Normal DAO Sigs and I can tell you its nothing to write home about.

For a duty pistol, it serves its purpose. Throw it off a cliff then off a wall and it will still cycle, but all in all, its not a reliable OR accurate pistol. I don't like the ergos, it has an extremely high bore axis and kicks like a mule compared to other 9mm pistols. For an accurate 9mm, I would go with the XD-9 with the 5 inch barrel if you're into polymer pistols. Personally I'm a diehard 1911 fan.

Even though I carry this pistol, I give it only enough trigger time to be familiar with the weapon platform. nothing more. To be blunt, I wouldn't take one for free, because if I didn't carry it, I wouldn't never shoot one again.

Really? I've never seen nor read about a 100% accurate pistol. That would make competitions easy. I gotta get me one of those.

Exactly, what are all these olympic shooters buying hammerli's and pardini's for if they could have bought a duty grade 226. :\

Mine has been super reliable, and accurate enough for what I do with it.

It is NOT a target pistol and never will be.

This is an interesting feedback and it shows that one man's medicine is another man's poison! I've talked to RCMP ERT team members (old timers) who loved the P226 and the DAK version was picked as their new duty pistol. The navy seals could choose any pistol they wanted (so did the British SAS) and they chose the P226. I use mine in duty pistol style competition and I love it. A buddy of mine, a captain and Swat team leader in Virginia, wouldn't go to the shower without his P226 in .357 Sig that has saved his life a number of times. I guess, if we all liked one pistol as the prefect one, we would not have a number to choose from, right? :)

Yes, I know many that swear by it, and as a DUTY Pistol for putting bad people to sleep, it does the job quite well. Out of all the duty sigs I have access to, I have seen more of them have some sort of FTFeed than not. Yes, they are all maintained properly, in perfect working order. Maybe its just a bad batch of sigs.

PERSONALLY I can't get over the high bore axis or the trigger. In a perfect world I'd carry a 1911 or an XD45. Those are 2 pistols that work for ME. I'm simply giving my opinion on my experience with the Sig Sauer P226.

Fair enough. I also like my 1911's and many smaller departments in the U.S. use them (the Texas Rangers being the largest and best known but even they switched to P226). For a LEO who practices a lot and can control a crisp single action like in the 1911, they are great choice but.... My first P226 (German made 2nd generation) went through 120,000 rounds and 2.5 barrels. I had the grand total of six malfunctions all ammo related and one failure to go into battery because it was so filthy the chamber was nearly plugged!

All these pistols are more accurate than you will ever need. It always makes me laugh how everyone says they're brand is more accurate. If there are differences, it's in fractions of millimeters and unless you're in top echelon competitions, it doesn't matter.

Good shooter with a pistol that fits him, good trigger and components, differences will be miniscule...

I put Heinie sights on my 226 and it helped a lot to tighten up groups in an already accurate gun. My experiences with reliability are similar to Miltiades posted above. With regular spring replacements, the only problems I ever had were my own!

Could you tell me if the accuracy of the P226 is better than the CZ, Glock Beretta?

Soditide. It depends on which model. Overall the cz's are more accurate than the duty sig's simply for the fact that the slide rides on the inside of the frame rails like the original sig p210 which cz's are modeled after. If you buy a sig sport stock or x series they will be more accurate than the cz. I didn't include the glock's or beretta's as they are not as accurate as the cz's. For what it's worth the cz is by volume the most common issued 9mm on the planet. Sig by volume is the number one choice of pistols for high end security guys. In truth it comes down to what you want as they are all great pistols and you won't go wrong with any of them.

Whoever mentioned his ruger 22 will outshoot them all is likely correct as some ruger pistols are truly match accurate.

If you have the coin the new sig legend is the gran pubba of them all, in a rest will shoot under 1 inch groups at 50 meters and is a dream to shoot, every bit as good as the old p210's. If money is an issue, the cz shadow, is very hard to beat for the money, very accurate.
