Just wonder if I'm willing to help, the match takes 2 days,
and I'm already back home 2 hours away.
Are they willing to electronically send me the results so I can help them score?
I have no problem using the software, the thing is will they let a person to score for them when they didn't know him well enough?
And in fact, I'd also helped out while at the match.

Wow...........this post emphasises that you really have NO CLUE as to how match results are prepared.

Oh and as an aside........EESA results are generally up the very evening of any given match so I am REALLY curious as to who voted for us. I guess I should just stop trying even level 1 matches.

Let alone the level 1.999 that we are having on Tuesday.

I didn't vote but I probably would have voted for you just to screw with the results...cuz its funny...lol

LOL........

Deal.......I will vote for you.

oh wait......Sharon seems to have been left off the list.

Perhaps they have already given up on you.

LOL

Frankly this is a stupid poll on a stupid post.

If the poll had been the reverse and asked which clubs get their results posted up quickly and could perhaps indicate what they do to provide that information then it might have been a worthwhile edeavor
All this poll and thread do is increase the burnout factor of those MDs and clubs that are doing it at all.

If Sharon had been on it I would have voted for it. It really pisses me off how long I take to get the results posted....

You guys may have a decent turn around time on results, but they are always wrong.

I'm never in first place!.

Guys you should not get upset when you see comments of that type.
Rather embrace those who are unhappy and have them involved in your matches.
I am pretty sure that if they are approached and asked for help in building stages or scoring the match they will be happy to help.
Myself as full time worker, husband and father can understand very well how much you need to sacrifice in order that some can have fun.
Thank you for your involvement in making IPSC available to all of us.

.

Maybe Pat Paid OP to keep sharon off list ;)

I've asked a previous local club I shot regularly out of to bring results home once in a while to help if reg. guy was sick or whatever, and was told, ah don't bother, we don't need multiple people keeping the score sheets, and tracking them, etc... don't worry we'll handle it... that was few years back.

I've never done it before, but willing to download program and be an option, if in position to do so, if on last squad or close to home to geth them...etc...

this goes to show the difference between US and Canada. Here there is no competition for getting shooters to matches so we should be happy that there is a match and don't dare say anything needs improvement. In the US the we have choices so the clubs work hard to draw the shooters to their matches. There is enough demand that you dont need to put on a good match to sell out, reminds me of the Leafs, why improve when everyones going to show up anyway

I think the poll should be redone, with the "this is a public poll" option checked...see what the results are...btw....I checked eesa because I enjoy skewing the results of a stupid poll!

I don't think any match...ipsc...idpa...multigun etc should be setup, without first taking into consideration to getting the results out in a timely manner. 3,4, 5 days is unacceptable....imho!

By the way, regarding taking 1st day score sheets home...

Someone shooting on a first day could take score sheets home, enter them into the WinMSS and send the database to another person who is processing score sheets from the second day. That will of course require some additional coordination and also make sure 1st person enters scores the same evening.

I also written a program to merge multiple WinMSS databases into one. So, several persons could process each own part of score sheets and result is merged together afterwards. If anyone is interested, please contact me.

Can't agree more!

We are asking to much from volunteers, charge more for matches so people cam be paid and help can be hired. When you charge money and turn a profit for a club that becomes a business. I don,t see a problem with that. Treat it like a business and competition will develop, always depending on volunteers is a tough way to advance a sport.
