My wife bought me a trail cam and the first day a few animals went by, but this one has me puzzled. Looks like a leopard. Could it be a bobcat? I have never seen one and never heard of them being around here, however it is here.

Neighbors cat or bobcat, legs to short for a canine and bobcats have tails, just not really long. It even has cat ears..here is a bobcat looks the same to me. Tt also looks like it is taking a step with its leg almost straight out, another typical cat trait. Would be nice to get a day-time picture though..lol

If we make the assumption that it is indigenous and not an escaped exotic pet, we should be able to come to a reasonable conclusion.

Leopards in Ont, not very likely.
Definately can see spots on legs, rules out yotes and fox.
Legs are also too short and heavy for a canine.
Jaguar- same as leopard
Wrong shape and stance for a lynx, which I am vey familiar with.

Must be a bobcat only reasonable conclusion.

Definately NOT a coyote, you can easily see the spotted coat and legs. Someone show me a pic of the last spotted coyote they shot, PLEASE.

It's a bobcat, period. I've never seem a spotted domestic cat either.

I am thinking it must be as well. Possibly a oversize tom cat but I've never seen a spotted one.
Am wondering if it might have a mate or do they roam by themselves.

I expect some people are talking about the pic in post #1 and others are referring to the pic in post #5. ;)
