I don't like how she is holding the mag? And I have no idea what's with the blanket/bedroll ether ??

I've seen many pics of Soviet snipers with SVTs, and they are always holding the mag like that. Don't know why, but that seems to have been SOP.

Good morning fellow Gunnutz New day New picture :)

I like this picture because I have the launcher and couple dummy grenades for my m1 :) :)
I will get some pictures of mine at lunch time and post them.

In this pic I see what looks like an empty casing in the air. I am wondering what the other large rectangular thing is in the air to the left of the darker casing?

How does the grenade launcher work?

The Garand grenade launcher mounts on the bayonette lug with a roll over catch and a little pin that depresses the gas plug. Clip a grenade on the flying part (never knew the name), slide it on the launcher, load a specific type of blank round, brace, aim and squeeze. The blast pressurizes the insides of the launcher, causing pressure to rise and force the grenade in its flier off the front end in a bloop direction. The gas plug depression pin prevents the action from cycling. The grenade pin comes unsecured, by another process I don't recall. The result is a big Bang! If the rifleman needs to shoot regular ammo, he just loads another clip in from the top and rejoins the firefight.

Some modern grenades have a bullet-trap base that lets the rifleman fire ball ammo and launch grenades. Not a process English-speaking armies do, but well understood by the French and Belgiques.

Wicked stuff. What else will you show us from your collection Joe?

How come I don't see an Olands cap on the bench trim? :D

I am going to play the devil's advocate and guess they are P14 rifles and that these were British troops (Home Guard maybe). I don't know my uniforms very well; I was just going by the brain buckets.

Who's right, me or the flying pig?
