Owned a aug years ago and feed the need to own a bullpup again. Trying to decide whether to buy an FN FS2000 or a Tavor. I would like some feed back from those who have owned and used either.
Thanks
Rob
Have both, use both - love both.
FS2000 - lighter, better ergonomics, more accurate, better trigger, low-maintenance; picky with magazines (metal only)
Tavor - looks cooler, more rail space, bipod adapter, takes all magazines, easier to clean, cheaper $$; trigger sucks
I agree with most of that, but with a few additional comments:
I only have a Tavor, though, and while I have had the chance to examine an FS2000, I haven't shot one. So, take my view with a grain of salt.
- I think the Tavor ergonomics are great, once you get used to them. I love the thumb-actuated mag release, and the location of the bolt release
- FS2000 doesn't lock open after the last round is fired - that was a deal breaker for me when I was considering it or the Tavor
also you can only purchase a tavor new right now. FS200 are no longer sold in canada as far as i know.
Does anyone know how much it is to re-barrel a FS2000 to non-restricted? I see now that questar is pre-selling the restricted version, and wonder what it would cost to switch it over.
I have both (both non restricted), the trigger makes the FS a better gun IMO even if the tavor is cheaper, better looking... Also the FN feels better build and stays cleaner. When you shoot the FN it's not that much bulkier than a tavor. And belgians are nicer than israelis in general!![]()
Absolutely - the ergonomics on the Tavor are great; I just find the ones on the FS2000 to be slightly better.
Am looking at the Tavor too
I played with the FN2000 and found it bulky and I dont like chamber cover.
Also the trigger on my Tavor isn't bad at all. Heavy but fairly crisp. I still have both springs on mine. Maybe I was just lucky but the trigger on mine doesn't stand out as bad. It's not match grade but it's not bad at all.
You mean the toilet seat? I seem to recall that's the technical term.![]()

yup lol
Does FN issue a plunger in the cleaning kit, to clear double feeds?![]()
Haven't shot a Tavor yet (I have one ordered) but I really like my FS2000. Enough that I am going to get it re-barreled to non restricted. Peoples first reaction when they see it is "holy crap that looks bulky" , then I let them handle it and their tune changes once they throw it up to their shoulder. Then they go "holy crap, that fits like a glove!"
