- Flat black paint
- Magpul Gen III enhanced yellow followers (A MUST FOR ALL LAR/USGI MAGS)
- Magpul L-Plates

I didn't go crazy with the paint on the mags, only because they're mags and they're going to get beat up anyways. Just a light sanding, some primer, flat black paint and a coat of lacquer.

And yes, I can still see all of the lettering through the 3 coats of paint I sprayed on them.

+1. So why the preference of the yellow followers over the foliage green?

No preference, really.

I was just going to order the green Gen III, but when I went to order them from Brownells, they now carry the new "enhanced" Gen III, so I ordered them instead.

I have no idea what the difference is, but I am a sucker for the words "new" and "enhanced". :p

If you have one left mail me one so I can do a comparison... I went with the foliage green because I figured the yellow would mark up a lot quicker.

OHNOEZ!

Even if I did, and I couldn't see the writing, I wouldn't care.

What are the cops going to do? Charge me with illegally painting my privately owned property?

Actually, the more likely charge would be possession of a prohibited device since it would come across as a rifle may without the lettering ...but carry on

GOOD.

I hope they charge me with "possession of a prohibited device". Like I said in the other thread (about painting LAR mags), they can charge me, we'll go to court and make some news.

Great...

But wouldn't it be more impressive if these mags were scuffed and scratched...
Y'know... 'Evidence that they actually get used?

'Just sayin'... I'm more inmpressed with gear that has most of it's finish worn off... :p

Damn, we've got a malfunction at the junction here. :runaway:

BE WARNED - IF YOU PAINT YOUR LAR MAGS, THERE IS A GOOD CHANCE THAT THEY WILL REFUSE TO DROP FREE WHEN YOU HIT THE MAG RELEASE.

This is something I never even really considered before painting them. :(

Doesn't really bother me too much, but it may affect you.

If you want to waste thousands of dollars on lawyers then go ahead lol.
You could buy a couple guns with that.

Plus, if you lose the battle in court, you are most likely going to lose ur gun license, just saying.
