i hate you :) love the helmet i got a few Canadian ww1 and ww2 helmets and i all was wanting a German one but they cost a arm and a leg haha and btw very nice k98 i wish i had 1 :( someday
 
Thanks for all the compliments guys! I searched hard to get good stuff, and mostly Ive paid for it but overall worth it.

fugawi-The middle bayo with the shiny grips and black pommel - is that a postwar refurb or is it supposed to be that way? What models are the bayonets?

It is a Portuguese contract bayonet, goes with the basically mint K98K from the same contract. That is why its so beautiful. They were built in 1941, sent to portugual and never issued. I will post more and better pics of the bayos.

Coyote Ugly- Looks Great! All you need is a Luger, MP40 and MG34 or MG42 to feed the addiction!

I can`t yet bring myself to buy dewats. I am only 28 so originals are out, and I thought Id collect as much live stuff as I can. then maybe some dewats. Lord knows I need some MG goodness.

The top is a dou44, which has sadly seen sand paper sometime in the past, but still has crisp edges and a germanesque finish.
The bottom is nice.
But just for fun, heres the PORT at the right angle. Which was rifle two.

Built a stand for the helmet today. But the wooden ball(aka the head) is a bit small.
Anyone have any idea where I might get a 7inch round wooden ball?

My wife won't allow me to adopt, after I asked if I could adopt a poor 25-year-old Philippine model.

I am looking for just a representation WWII German helmet for my collection. It doesn't have to be German, I would settle for the style of the M40. It could be Finnish, Spanish or Nationalist Chinese.

Lots of nice original german pieces out there, and quite reasonable too. But no decal no liner sometimes. A nice original liner and decal boost the prices.

I have not found my PORT bayo. I have one, but its quite a few off of mine.
I have located one match with my database though. And a fella on here has H908, my rifle is H907. Soooo close. Haha

Maybe your wife would be more open to adopting a scruffy 28 yo GUY as opposed to someone so much more ......tempting. lol.
I should just buy a mismatch and rebarrel it, its just a ####ty way to go.
 
Yeah the three slings are pretty cool. All found on the rifles.
One is L & F/ Joesph Moll 1938
One is L & F/ unknown
One which is a mystery to me.
The black one on the byf 42. Buckle is marked gau41. Only references i can find of gau41 marked slings are MP40 slings, but mine has the 3 holes(K98K) not 2(MP40)
so not sure what to make of it. At least an uncommon sling I would guess.
