Back from range, I was going there for my 3rd probationary shooting.

Only one gentleman carried his pistol to the range but he didn't want anyone touch it. There were 2 more guys there waiting so I decided to leave.

ATT should be a policy to keep everyone safe and have fun with target shooting. Right?

Hope I can get these 6 probationary shooting finished before summer is gone.

Happy shooting!

Your thread is confusing. What do ATT's have to do with someone being anal about their firearm? Also, if you want to get your probationary shoots over with why didn't you just wait.

ATT's are useless pieces of paper that do no such thing!

If I already have a license to own as many restricted's as I can buy WTF difference does it make that I can travel with one from point A to B.

And if someone was going to use a gun for illegal purposes does anyone actually think they would think twice because of a lack of an ATT?

That right there is among the dumbest ideas in the FA, although there are many.

Hope you have your flame suit on for this one. ;)

The club only can help us to apply the ATT after we finished 6 probationary shooting. So I can't carry my pistol to my club to do that.

But club doesn't offer any pistol in range and range office doesn't carry any firearm to the range. The only way we can do it just borrow a pistol from members that come to the range.

That's the confused part.

I will always carry a whatever .22 lr pistol with me in the future to see anyone need to borrow.

Wow, that's a pretty ridiculous club policy. I'm sure it's not as easy as finding another club.

Why does the club have to help? If you're a member of the club, isn't that sufficient for the CFO to issue an ATT?

What club is this?

And you can call and get a temporary ATT possibly if you call the CFO, and explain.

f**king Ontario CFO and their BS!

That is a pretty f'ed up system. What is the purpose of the RPAL course then? is this club rules or Ontario law?

It is Ontario CFO imposed policy from what I gather.

Every range in Southern Ontario has the same policy as far as probationary shoots go, and they actually have separate courses fro restricted ATT's over and above the Federal course.

Also in Ontario individuals cannot apply for their own LTATT, and are completely dependent on the club to apply and renew for you!

Like I said, ####ing BS CFO policy!

Bg2xbq, If you don't like the club policy, contact the B.O.D. and state your concerns.
Blowing hot air on this forum wont help you.

Even in Québec it's better, individuals apply for theirs LTATT and thats it.

So the 6 first time you go to the range, you have to guess that someone will let you shoot his gun..... That's weird

My club in Northwestern has no such policy as a probationary period, so it's not an Ontario thing, it's an individual club thing.

When I first joined my club I had too do proby shoots also, but a firearm and ammo were provided. All I had do to is show up, be safe and have some fun.
Hoping someone will let you shoot their guns and shoot up their ammo is a weird policy. I think I would move on and look into other clubs.

Wow, so you need to get 6 shooting sessions in before they will get you your ATT, but they don't have pistols at the club you can use. So you have to show up and hope to hell someone lets you borrow their gun in order to eventually bring your own.

I hope you knew that before you paid your membership fees.
