M305 Combo back on sale HURRY HURRY HURRY

your order is shipped in two parts (rifle then ammo) and our system sends tracking when the order is completed (ammo shipped).

Hey everyone - are you guys getting both the rifle and the ammo at the same time?

I arranged to go pick up my package with Canpar tomorrow after work, as i was not home today. Just wondering if it will be just the rifle or the rifle and ammo....?

I got both in the same delivery, but that could be because I'm on the east coast.

All the shorty's do. it is required because of the shorter barrel.

I am in no way trying to be an Arse, Just curious about the ballistics of the shorter barrel. I bought a shorty from you and am super pleased with your great service and patience.

My question however is this... All settings being the same, Wouldnt a higher front sight post cause the barrel to aim lower? You'd have to lower the front of the rifle to get your sights on target.

I fully realize I will probably be hit with an answer that will make me go <DOH!> but please lay it on me anyway...

For a Socom type build, is this what I need along with a standard front sight. The navy model on the left is higher then the standard on the right ? Are the SEI parts compatible with Norinco (metric-Imperial treads)?

Standard fits M14/M1A rifle with 22" barrel. Navy model fits Navy MK14 Model 0 rifle with 18" barrel.

Got my Shorty along with the op-rod spring guide I ordered today! Thanks Canada Ammo, for the, as always, excellent service!

Has anyone tried to remove their flash hider yet? On my standard length M305 (which I got second hand, not sure if it came from CanadaAmmo), the FH came off after I backed the castle nut and gave it a few little taps. It seemed all that was holding it in place was some sort of grainy epoxy. However, after backing off the castle nut on the shorty, no amount of whacks managed to budge the FH. Are they welded on? I don't see any obvious weld marks. Perhaps I just need to take it to the range a couple of times and heat the barrel up bit to loosen it ;)

All things being equal, yes. But, but they are not, moving the sight back requires it to be higher.

yup! Secure the barrel in a barrel vise (or clamp it to a work bench)... use a brass punch on the bayonet lug and whack it with a big F'n hammer. its a bit intimidating, but mine came off in one whack.

Any flash hider exchange suggestion? I must take the factory one out as need to install the Troy MCS.

I have a couple stupid Noob questions....

Since this is my first M14/M305, it's my first time looking at the cleaning kit included with it.

- Should there be a Bore Brush included?
- Does the handle/wrench/screwdriver serve any other purposes? Reason I ask is because of all those extra holes on the end.

Thanks!!

The rifle does not ship, AFAIK, with a brush that will go down the length of the bore. You can use the threaded rods to run a swab down the bore. There should be a brush (which has holes on the sides of the plastic cylindrical base to allow one of the threaded rods to be screwed into it) which you can use to clean the chamber. This is convered in the manual that should have been shipped along with the rifle, in the Cleaning the Chamber section.

You can find a close enough version of the manual here: http://www.m14.ca/manuals/Polytech_M305_Manual.pdf

The hexagonal shaped hole at the end of the multi-tool is meant to fit on the end of the gas cylinder plug, to allow you to unscrew it and clean out any carbon deposits on the gas piston or in the gas cylinder. I'm not entirely sure what the other holes on the metal multi-tool are for.
