TNW Firearms Suomi M-31 Coming Soon!

US has some odd federal barrel restrictions, too.
No smoothbore pistols, nothing smooth under 18", or under 16" if rifled.
No shorty ARs for Americans. Unless they are SBR federally registered and taxed.
The TNW PPSh with the extended barrel jacket and long barrel looks odd. Don't know if it has an all new receiver; if any old receiver bits are recycled, it won't pass here.
To sell any of these guns in the US, they have to have enough US made parts to qualify under US law.

The guns TNW is selling in the US have 16+ inch replacement barrels to meet US NFA requirements, avoiding SBR status.
The Cdn order would require new, longer barrels. A special run.
They could be sold here with original barrels, as restricted firearms.

So, maybe you can answer my Q from above T.....
Is the pic provided with the 16+ barrel length, or 18.75" (in your opinion).
I can't seem to find an answer using historical data/photo's.

'Cause if the pic above is of the 16" barrel, it's gonna look fugly as hell with the 18.75". Just sayin'...

That's the part that is weird. They have to pay more tax to own an SBR or an FAMILY gun. I'd pay extra tax for that!
Lol!

I think that the photo shows the US 16" barrel.
The original barrel ends just short of the brake, add 4" to make US minimum, and that's about where it should be.
With the Cdn. length barrel, it will look a bit odd. Guess that is the price for non-restricted status. For range use only, I'd be inclined to install an original length barrel, and register it as restricted.
Catch with these blowback rebuilds - they have a long action to begin with. Put an 18 1/2" barrel on, and the whole carbine gets quite long. Longer than, say, a 19" M-1 carbine, which has a much shorter action to begin with.
A semi auto Sten with a non-restricted barrel is a really odd looking duck.

That was my guess, but I was hoping for a different answer. ;)
The lines of these TNW models just seem to go against the grain for me, so I would have to agree on an original barrel length, in restricted.

Er, yes.....a club member used to have one. I kept asking myself what the point was of the whole assembly every time I looked at it. I guess for some - just having one trumps whatever it might look like. I guess I prefer things a little more traditional.

I tend to agree. The semi auto LMG types are fine for non-restricted. The subgun types look much better with the restricted shorter barrels.
Of course, if you want to hunt with one.....

I'm thinking the nonrestricted barrel will take the "###y" out of this rifle. I was hoping the picture was what it would look like with the nonrestricted barrel.

So here is the U.S. Model with 16" barrel.....

and now the CDN version with 18.75", (by my estimates);

Hmmmmm.......I dunno.
Extending the shroud would definitely help.
