Hi all
We discussed this shoot earlier this month here, and it finally happened. Thanks to the PQRA who hosted the event, and thanks to "BoumBoum" here for all the tricks and advice about wind reading, sight adjusting, etc.
How it worked was very good. We have some 600y TR targets, but at all distances. This mean that the further we went, the smaller the aiming circle was getting. Perfect for first-timer like me at long range with the iron sight
Here are the shooters for the day
"Bolt Action" form here with a Lee no 4T
We started the day at 200 yards to get on paper and get a feel for it. Then we got back to 300y, 4 sighters and 15 for score. Here is me shooting and my happy face when I got a 5.
"BoumBoum"
JCM308
"Bolt Action" with his Mosin sniper
Targets
My 303 (1943 Longbranch with my own wood on it)
"hacer2" with his swiss
At the end of the day the markers (cadets hired for the day) wanted to try to shoot a bit. Here is me coaching them a bit at 600y. They all hit the black circle, which I think is good.
And guess what ? This was a friendly match, and to my surprise, I won the "Issued" class. 198 and 13V in the day. We shot 15 at 300 and 400, and 10 at 500 and 600
(ok, the Issued class was me, hacer2 and JCM308, but still.....)
Thanks to the PQRA, and if it happen again next year I'll be there for sure
