Svt 40 1945

was it new or had it been sitting there for ages among the SVT's listed?
I dont know, was a long time i didnt visit the site but i dont think was there for a long time or would have been sold fast.

So, roughly how many do you think were made in '45 and how many do you think are floating around Canada?
I tried to find production figures but no luck yet. They made it for 3 days like, i have no idea at that time how many they built by day. I would say less than 3000 could have been built but its only my opinion. Dont know how manys could be here but they are very very very fews for sure.

Hard luck man.
The '45 is one of the harder to find for sure.
Hey Joce have you ever owned a Kovrov Arsenal SVT?
I hear they are quite rare.
A Kovrov is my next one. Only built for 6 months or so,they are rare indeed. I return crying in my closet now.....:HR::(

You'll find her eventually man.

It must be frustrating to get so close.

I know how you feel, I have come close to my "white whale" a couple times now....

Hey Joce, how many Kovrov sniper like mine could have been built you think?

Has any one put a scope on this rifles? I have seen a few pix on the internet of some repo mounts but didn't see much for sale in Canada. My eyes are getting old and have trouble with iron sites.

Its extremely hard to tell. Assuming that your Kovrov is a 1941, about 34 710 SVT were issued as a sniper in 1941, all arsenals included. Kovrov SVT where only supplement so all i can say (with reserve) is that Kovrov SVT are rare, Kovrov sniper are probably even more.

Those 45's must be rare, I have only seen one or two 44's. Most are 1940-1943.
PS has a bunch of Kovrov's but that one 45 rifle must have not been there for long, or I would have noticed it.
I got one Kovrov from PS and the other from P&D. Both snipers I purchased from PS.
Westrifle, use to sell repro scopes/mounts. The mounts are not but but the scopes are not a top quality repro but good for shooting.
Accumount in the US makes both but will not consider shipping to Canada and I think Numrich had some too.
You can sometimes find original scopes on the internet from Eastern States and Russia (some are repros made on original equipement). I have only seen one or two original mounts for sale, both sold for between $1000-1500.

'45 SVT - first pics

I was the person who scooped the '45 Tula (Sorry Joce).
Just unwrapped it tonight and will do a more thorough tear down on the weekend.

Receiver stamp somewhat marred by European import/export markings unfortunately. :(

Three digit serial number.

In an '43-dated AVT stock with only one serial number stamped into it (matched to the rifle serial). Usual refurb EP markings and treatments.
