so im doing a transfer for a belgian ca from the hamilton police property lockup when they get a letter telling them the RCMP want to inspect it to make sure it cant be converted back...i get a call from the hamilton cops saying theyve been told it could take months before they even look at it..and i may not get it back if the conversion isnt up to snuff..if it needs just a couple things done to keep them happy i can get it done ..if they deem it to be to easy to convert back its going to be destroyed no compensation and i cant deactvate it either..i know epps had a couple isreali ca's grabbed did they ever get them back?...also the person i talked to at HWPS said that they want to inspect all FN FALs that are ca ..i dont think she was supposed to tell me that ...beware when you go to sell your ca's that your firearm may be next...great frigging country ...im getting really fed up of having to jump through hoops all the time ..maybe time to deactivate the ones at home before they get grabbed..

i cant own full auto...when they came into the country years ago after the 1978 full auto cut off date they where not even restricted ..these peices allowed guys not in the full auto class to own the same guns as them but in semi only ...the conversions were all done different there was no set conversion for these guns ..they became restricted then prohibited thanks to our crappy govs at the time ...so if it can be converted back to full auto or the conversion isnt very good it gets destroyed ..full auto guys cant even get it ....the rcmp never wanted these guns in the country in the first place now they are weeding them out when we try to transfer them ...

...that's like saying if you go to sell your classic car and it doesn't meet current standards with seat belts then it will be crushed and you can't do boo about it. What a farce.

you can sell it to a dealer and they can deact it.
That probably doesn't make him feel too good.

This problem with the lab inspections has been going on for quite a while. There are a couple other threads that are currently discussing their practises, delays and lack of customer service.

I think the lab doesn't think the customer they serve is who you are suggesting the customer is.

The lab takes years to issue new FRTs, let alone CA inspections

I guess I was confused by the fact these firearms have been in Canada for a minimum of 17 years already, legally. Some have been here nearly 100 years. Not newly imported or design change that needs inspection. Some only have 5 parts. And they can't be shot anywhere.

Again, if it saves just one child's life, it will all be worth it.

Fak, I gotta stop this........ I hate purposeful ineptness.

Sorry:redface: deep breaths.......

So....what happens when 'we' get a happy little letter to turn everything in for inspection??

This is ^$%^% Bull&^%^ and it %&^%&*(......These guns were all inspected by the same 'crime lab' when they were registered as prohibs....

I had guns that were gone for more than a year while the Queens Cowboys rubbed their dicks all over them

This continuos BS makes my eyes sweat...........d:h:

It is mental. Most of the CA jobs were simple welds of the selectors, etc. They will not pass the "guidelines", but shouldn't have to. Revisionists.

Just for general information

... I believe that the FAL's, ( Ex Israeli, if I recall correctly ) were available in Vancouver anyway, around 1978/79 . With the Australian manufactured ones, a year or so later. (Ex Singapore Police perhaps?) Sold through Lever Arms, so there's been a lot of time to establish "guidelines" for an "Acceptable Conversion ". ....... David K

Well, my last semi-sten build has been at the lab for THREE YEARS now and still no ruling. Every time I call, I get a promise that it's imminent. I stopped believing that LONG ago...

This is why I don't build them anymore.

The FN/FAL, FNL1A1s, etc have been "in country" since before then. Once upon a time, anyone (usually DCRA members) could purchase direct from CAL, the FNC1 during the 1960s.

And now we can have an "FN" rifle fit into: 12.2 class, 12.3 class, and 12.5 class.

What? The rules have changed after the game has started? Say it ain't so..... Deception from a government firearm section?, nawwwww.. Wouldn't happen.
