Has anyone ever ordered from Exile Machine LLC out of Texas? I am pondering ordering a few Promag AA922 magazines for my SR22. The site says they ship to Canada at reasonable rates via USPS

Item in question: h ttps://www.exilemachine.net/shop/archangel-marauder-10-22-mag-25rd-11083.html

Any input would be appreciated.

My question would be what is reasonble shipping rates? I would guarantee its $20 or so plus exchange rate putting them right around the same price as hical or any of are other site sponsor are selling them for. Sorry havent dealt with them personally just doing the math.

Support Canadian retailers. +1 for HiCal. My last 4 transactions on (FRAUD ALERT) are from HiCal lol

Yes, I agree supporting Canadian retailers is preferable, but that being said, I think it is a fair inquiry since I have seen numerous recommendations from fellow CGNers directing them to such US retailers as Iron Eagle Tactical and Brownells if the good deals are to be had.

I am merely wondering if anyone has any experience with this particular retailer and it appears not.

Beyond the fact of supporting Canadian dealers, buying Canadian means your order never goes through customs. I can also recommend Hical, Dave was very helpful and even went out of his way to make sure I got what I was looking for.

A Canadian source is your ONLY option. Anything over 10 rounds is considered a High Capacity magazine and not legally permitted to cross the border without proper export paperwork.

This i didn't know. I was under my own assumption the only mag under regulation was the bx25. Interesting. If the company has export permits are they then permited? I've been buying scopes out of the us from a company with these permits without issue even tho I was told it would be difficult.

from reading the many posts on these mags in other threads by members here they really seem to be hit or miss. there is even one guy selling his whole murauder build in the EE because the mags were so bad he got tired of them and without the complete package look doesnt want the rifle anymore.

The specific issue behind the BX-25 magazines is in fact on our side of the border and not the American side. Irrespective of that, the BX-25 is still a 25 round magazine and is still prohibited from crossing the border with proper export paperwork. You can buy as many 10 round magazines (less than or equal to) as you can export within the limits, which are $100, $200, or potentially up to $500 per transaction. The $500 is a new one, and I do not know exactly what is permitted under this new limit. Apparently the US Gov't came to their senses and they upped the non-permit limits on most ITAR controlled items to $500. Don't quote me on that, however.

How do these AA922 mags function? Any known issues?

You bet there are issues. I bought a used Marauder package from a member here, it came with one mag. and he had files it on the ramp area to try and get it to function. It works, "part time", I don't believe i have ever got it to feed all 25 rounds without a jam....

So i bought three more brand new, and I have the same issue with all of them! I have done everything I can to get them to work properly, i cleaned all the excess plastic flashing from them so they won't stick, I've marked the tops with white paint marker to see if they bind, ect....

I have only got one or two of them to function through all 25 rounds a couple of times. At times i've had them fail EVERY shot for a whole 25 rounds, other times i'm able to get a handfull of shots off before it jams. I KNOW it's not the rifle because i have a couple of factory 10/22 rotary mags glued to airsoft M4 mags and they function 100% as does my BC 25 round steel lip mag. And i've tried every .22 round available to me here to see which will work best....

At this time im having a Love/Hate relationship with the Marauder....I love the look, and the rifle id DEAD NUTZ accurate with the Dlask 12.5" barrel, but i HATE the mag issue! Lately i've been on the fence on whether i should sell it as i just get so fricken frustrated with the feeding issues.... I feel the same way as the other seller, I dont want to have to use the "ugler" BC mags just so it works..... I should't have to IMO.... I've invested almost 200.00 in magazines for this thing!

AFAIC the mags need to be redesigned, all they need to do is redesign the removable top end, and they should offer working replacements to the guys who bought them, that would make me happy.

it bothers me I have to make such a post about this, and i believe i can with all honesty as i've excersized all due diligence in trying to make them work! I've read every thread and followed all advice given to making them work, so i didnt post this after simply taking out once or twice and having a few issues, I've had them for a couple months, and used all four at leased a dozen + times, giving them time to "break in"...... I dunno, for lack of a better term, they just suck.....

but if your looking for the look they offer, give 'em a try. YMMV.....

Ginnz.

Honestly the BC 25 rd mag works great for me but I love the look of the SR22 with the "unsheathed" Promag magazine (9mm look). I am not so keen on the large covering.

Now you got me wondering if it is even worth the expense.

Hey Guys,

I'd like to share a recent experience that occurred with a Vendor here..... Dave at HiCal contacted me, asking if I had bought the Mags from them, i stated i had not, i had got them from another vendor here in Canada.... he then offered to send me two FREE feed lips for my mags to help me get them working better! I was BLOWN AWAY. I cannot express enough my appreciation for offering this. It goes to show that there are some real stand up guys out there! I wouldnt hesitate to refer anyone to Hi-Cal for their purchases, as they obviously go way out of their way to keep a customer happy......

obviously ill be using their services when shopping for accessories in the future!

I'd like to say "Thanks Dave"

Ginnz!

Not trying to hijack, but what's the word on the promag mags that look like the 9mm mp5 mags? I know there have been issues with the 223 ones.
