Bite yours too Kalmar! This was what I was referring to:

- quoted straight from Miami Vice Wikia.

"Crockett switched to a 2nd generation Smith & Wesson automatic, the model 645 in .45 ACP, at the start of the third season. At the beginning of the 5th and final season, Crockett was issued the brand new, updated version of the 645, the 4506, also chambered in .45 ACP. "

:cheers::cheers::cheers:

So thats like 70.00 dollars? is that shipped or + shipping. Seems kinda steep.
Love that hard chrome finish I always wanted to have my 1911 done with that.

Ha! You think that's steep, you don't wanna know how much I paid for Springfield NM kit! :D

Seriously  (edit: and yes, I DID overpay...)

Only in the early episodes.

The problem was, the company making the Bren simply couldn't get into proper production, and parts became a serious problem for the TV show's armourers, and they had to switch to something they could keep working. In those days, a single stoppage for a movie-gun could cost the producer a MINIMUM of $1500. More if the scene involved moving cars, boats or planes had to be re-shot with the super-expensive stunt drivers.

The A-Team, for instance, was eventually cancelled, not because of ratings, but because the cost of doing the stunts was getting seriously out of hand!

If memory serves, I think there was also an issue about getting 10mm brass made up for the blanks...and that .45acp blanks were an easy option. I'm not very certain, but I think the real "Vice BrenTen" was actually in .45acp because of this...but my memory is VERY fuzzy of that.

Cool looking gun though. First time I saw the show I thought it was a stainless Browning HiPower! :D

From my reading, the BM59 is roughly a M1 garrand rechambered for 7.62x51 and adapted to a dettachable mag arrangement. I selected the BM59 sight as I thought it might be more similar to the M14 sight- but I don't know. The metric thread I dont care one way or another- but the dovetail may different.

Ha!

Springfield Armoury actually sold Italian BM59's in the 1980's for the US civie market!!

It had a barrel length of roughly about 18.5" (like the "shorty's" from China), but they had a wood stock, plastic pistol grip, and a steel side folding stock.

So yea, anyway, the Italian made BM59's and Garands were apparently quite well made.

Sadly the BM-59 is prohib and the parts are quite scarce these days. I suppose you could modify an original Garand receiver.....

I'd take one of those folding stocks in a heartbeat though. Yeah, yeah, I know they're uncomfortable, impractical, etc.. I just want it.

Satain is gone, account frozen that's why his name isn"t pink.
And he wasn't sellin them... You buy them off buddy in italy via E bay

Robert seemed like a nice guy emailed back and forth to show me the differences between the sights he had

I bought a rear sight and a front one …don’t really need the front one..But I have a USGI flash suppressor with bayonet lug coming so ill put the new front one on it ...and i found a m6 bayonet at a yard sale for 20 bucks this past weekend wahooo....

Robert sent me a set on the 11th ...they showed up in Canada 4 days back They are in customs now ...can’t wait till they show here

wonder how long customs will hold them hostage ??:D

I got my set today.

Something I learned from Hungry's M14 clinic on the weekend. The Norc shorties use a unique front sight. The center post is significantly taller than a regular Norc or even a USGI front sight.

I just ordered a couple of rear sights from Robert in Italy [today!]. My Norc rear sight is _very_ inconsistent in its adjustments, and my front sight isn't one of the high Norc types. What I am finding is that the rear aperture has to be set a bit higher to zero the gun, but it's still quite useable. I'm really looking forward to a quality rear sight however.

Mine rattled loose every 2o rounds or so. These look and feel way better.
