Ontario - Antlerless draw results, WTF

Got a question for you guys. This year will be my first Ontario Hunt.
I applied for the draw and also asked for a buck tag when I was at the service Ontario a couple of months ago.

They really didnt know what they were doing so im not sure if they processed everything properly. I paid 40ish bucks. which i thought was low...I thought it would of been double. 1 for the anterless draw and 1 for buck. or maybe thats not how it works??

Anyways, ive been trying to find out if i was succesful for the anterless but not sure how i go about that?

You're only getting 1 tag for now.

I drew my Anterless Seal, but the 3 units around me generally draw 100% success.

No, they did it right. The draw is optional and free for those who wish to do it. Right now you are able to shoot a buck in most places in Ontario. Did you actually apply for the draw? You have to apply for a specific WMU at the time of the draw.

If you did apply, and are successful, you will receive an anterless validation sticker to go with your "buck" tag. It allows you to shoot any deer; buck, fawn, doe. That is one deer, not an additional one on top of your buck tag.

No wonder i always hunted in Quebec! complicated stuff at first when nobody tells you whats happening. lol

All i got from them was a small yellow piece of plastic paper that says deer licence receipt. which was 45.04$ Also got a larger yellow carbon copy paper that says application to hunt antlerless deer with my wmu on it and my info.

So if i have it right...the small one is receipt that i purchased a deer licence(buck) which should come in the mail? and the larger one was the free anterless draw. if succesful they send the actual licence which will state im able to hunt buck, doe, fawn?

Your "buck" tag will be coming any day now (draw was Aug. 8th and results are available via phone). If you were successful, your anterless validation will be with it. If you werent, it wont be.

Went to go buy an extra tag for 89A and she was like there are none available! FML. In 88 where I hunted last year you can get like 4-5 tags if you really wanted, wish I had my old spot back. I know I should be lucky and happy (which I am, trust me) but from having the ability to get more tags I could use to 1 drawn tag sorta sucks. Better make sure the deer I get is mighty big :)

Upon first reading the posts I started to panic a bit cause I couldn't remember if I had applied
Turns out I did, and was successful for 89
This was the first time I didn't apply last minute, no wonder I forgot all about it

Yeah, just got mine for 49.

Both myself and the father in law were successfull.

So in the past your tag, did not specify a WMU and was good for a buck in any WMU, so I assume that has not changed, and the WMU and antlerless designation are just for that reason.
