New Desert Eagle quality issues

So basically this thread confirms that these are the Harley Davidsons of the pistol world.

I've fired a .44 mag deagle and taken a few shots with one in .50AE. The .44 was okay, the .50 had a hideous trigger pull and weighed a ton. Recoil was surprisingly low, but I think intimidation factor is the biggest thing going for it.

Thanks!

From The Shooting Edge. Highly recommended by the way! It's a custom order gun and Brian wouldn't even take a deposit, no money until he could personally inspect it, same with the Rem 700 I got from them at the same time.

Thanks. Sounds like a great place to shop. He didn't happen to bring one in for stock too did he? :)

Not that I know of. In fact, his supplier said that it would be about a year before they could get one. Got lucky and Magnum delivered one early. This is probably only true for the fancier finishes. There are a few black ones around, I know Lanz has one.

Thanks. I already have a 50ae in black. I just may order one like yours too!

NICE! I want those grips in the worst way, they complete the look. But can't find them anywhere (well, everyone has them in stock in the US, everyone who doesn't ship to Canada)

Call Wholesale, last I asked they said they had a tiger stripe coming in July, they may still have it. One of the Vancouver shops had a Ti Gold one but their price is out to lunch as is the rule for that market.

(don't trust their web inventory status, it's as reliable as next week's weather forecast)

I'm going to buy mine on Friday :) black one in .50AE. Can't wait to take it to the range :D

Yeah baby! BTW if you need ammo, jump on the stock SFRC has right now, don't buy the ridiculously priced OE ammo:

Bought mine 2 months ago. 44 Mag in polished chrome. It's not a safe queen at all. Got at least 500 rounds down the pipe. Super reliable as long as you grab it properly. If you have a high grip, you will ride the slide and cause a malfunction.

Yes they did redo the site but ordered mine from them a month or two back.

Got a bunch of parts and the grips.

Emailing them is the best way to go.

That'd be great, I'll try it, thanks!!! I even tried calling, got bounced around, until I reached a full mailbox. Haven't tried emailing though.

Thanks! I definately will. What's the difference between the 300 grain hornady and the 350 grain magnum research ammo? (other than the weight of course :p)

I've heard that the DEs have a problem cycling if the load is too light. I'm not sure if this is a myth or may be more appicable to the .44 ammo

The 50ae will cycle the 300gr hornady just fine.
