blackfeather stock arrived!

Can we get them in pink so that we can name the gun MR FEATHER? I may actually get one of these stocks, well that was up until friday when I decided I need a new outboard motor for my fishing boat. Oh well, at least my brother is in town today

"I'm sold on the blackfeather - Now I just need to find me a shorty so I can buy another!"

Not trying to sell you out of another stock, but remember with the Blackfeather "RS" platform, all you need to run a second rifle in the same stock, in this case, a shorty, is a second oprod guide and that is available from the M14.ca web site. Unlike other platforms, this allows you to run multiple M14 rifle "upper" configurations: a shorty with a dot and a longy with a scope as you have it pictured and thus Hungry's adage, "Don't Buy One, Buy Two," seems to have particular appeal. ;)

there is another stock out there that will accept the m14 action with sage oprod guide block intact. There is a kit for the promag stock to fit the sage "action" as well. Just not widely seen yet. I was sent the link with photos and videos but I'm not the one that's gonna post them hehehehe , don't know if any have made it to canada yet though

My New Baby

Here is a quick snap of my Blackfeather.
It looks and feels awesome. I couldn't be more happy.
Well, maybe if I had two of them. I am going to get a
bipod and see how that looks.

I have my blackfeather sitting in a box waiting for me to find a couple hours to put her together. Any tips or tricks from the guys who have assembled theirs?

Installation is very simple, worse part is the op rod guide, take your time with it cause if it goes on and it's to tight it's a bear to get it off.

A point of note: buying a plastic replica stock and then spending more money and time refitting it with a "upgrade kit" is one good example of why I designed the Blackfeather "RS."

Unlike after market accessories that may require inletting or "retro-fitting" by you or a gunsmith, the Blackfeather system is CNC machined and purpose built out of a monolithic aluminum part: it is made according to US GI spec. and it requires no glass bedding unlike some of the $500 fibreglass stocks we see on the market today.

The Blackfeather "RS" system is designed to accurize your M14 using our newly designed oprod guide that not only helps accurize your rifle but uniquely self-lubricates the oprod as well. The oprod guide is also fully adjustable for load development, a significant point of comparison. These features are present in no other design. Soon, Blackfeather will ship with a 4-fluted oprod spring guide (all current customers will have one within 3 weeks) and at $629.95 Blackfeather is being presented at one of the lowest price points in the history of the platform.

Before you mar the crap out of the flash hider castle nut make sure you remove the tiny little screw that prevents the nut from backing off. I battled with that for a while then felt like an idiot. It is the one that uses a 1/16 allen key. Other than that things went pretty smoothly. Installing the OPG is not as complicated as it may sound.

Am I the only one have trouble understanding how people can spend $700 on just a stock for any rifle??? Don't get me wrong it's nice and all but come on, $700!!!!

Has anyone tried a Norinco factory made Shorty in one of these yet ? And if so did you have to remove material under the trigger pad area to get it to fit correctly ?
I had to remove alot of material under the trigger pad area on mine to get my USGI fiberglass stock to fit correctly. And of the 5 or so other factory made Shortys I saw they looked to have the same deep cuts into the trigger pad area on their factory stocks as mine did.

And were there any problems getting the black feather op rod guide to fit ?? As the barrel profile on the shorty is different as well.

Awesome kit.
Would Troy M14 Battle Rail fit Blackfeather stocks?

I'll tell you tomorrow - but it looks like yes. I'm going to try to finish a Troy Battlerail'd shorty with the Blackfeather ORG install - it looks like there's plenty of clearance for the Blackfeather ORG with a Troy battlerail installed up top.

If there isn't - you'll see an M14 Battlerail on the EE soon :D

I'm away from my workshop and without a punch to get the original op-rod guide off - so the completion of this install will have to wait until tomorrow. It's killing me.

So far the stock looks beautiful - it took all I could muster to not fake sick at work and head home early to start work on it this morning.
