Rossi Ranch Hand Holsters

Those Motorola style lock swivels are nice for sure.....I bought an old radio holster at a garage sale just to get the hardware!

Another option I'll look into is a fixed- non releasing holster with a pivot or swivel. probably cheaper to put on, but holster will be fixed to the belt.

Update :

So far the 2 inexpensive quick release/ swivelling ideas didn't work the way I want them to (one worked but not to my standard - a bit sloppy in function for drawing the rifle)

I will keep looking for some of the radio D-buttons & female ends & try to come up with some other ideas (like a tiny chair swivel). hmmm....f:P:2:

________
Until then I will just make the initial 2 designs For Rossi Ranch Hands in .44mag & .45 LC (unless I can get a Chiappa or Rossi .22 to make templates off of - I want them to fit your rifles properly). I can do simple lettering, different borders if requested & I can add a loop/snap for the lever loop or hammer if requested for another $3.00.

**We'll have to discuss what I have the tools for & what I can do before you ask for anything special :)

Send me a PM if you are interested and would like to pick a colour & style.

I will make em by request - not in advance. (please remember this is a hobby for me - not a business, I am not a professional and just trying to help out some fellow Mare's Leg owners !)

--------> I would still like someone to have a look in person and let others know how they feel the quality and fit is <-------

Nice to see something I've been interested in. I just bought a Rossi in 44mag last week.

I noticed the wrap around the loop on your rifle. I might have to try the same thing on mine as the edges seem pretty rough and I don't really fell like smoothing it out and rebluing. What did you use?

Just some flat leather string/wrap on a spool - Tandy leather or Michaels crafts.

How do you do the stitching? I use a lock stitcher on mine as it doesn't require holes punched ahead of time.
Very nice work.
I've got a Ranchhand coming in the mail. I may have to copy your holster my fellow leatherworker. But I don't think mine will end up as nice.

I do all my stitching by hand, I have the lock tool but I get much tighter stitches by hand.

I've got a Model 20 Singer treadle machine in the garage. It's made for a shoemaker. LOL, it cost me 100 $ for a new shuttle but I've never used it.
Beautiful machine though; black & gold lettered. It's the size of a Cummins diesel and weights almost as much; had to use an engine crane to get it off of the truck.
It might be a tad light for holster leather though.
Keep up the nice work.

Great work.
Now to figure out how to make slings like the chap in Montreal
without drilling anything.
Those I would be interested in.
I like the dark one.
Seems to hollar class.

A quick sample pack

For edges guys, I can do alot of themes and ideas. My free hand tooling is still coming on but here are some quick edges I threw onto some scrap leather today to give you all ideas of what I can put along the edge of the holsters for those wanting one.

*If you have another idea in mind - ASK ! and I will try to find a way to make it or come close. It's your holster - I want it to be personal as best I can.
