Locks For AR

How do you remember all the combinations?

I have 33 guns and if i had 33 combo locks i doubt i could remember them all..

I currently use the master brand keyed locks...i had to get a dedicated key chain for them though...and have forgotten the keys before...:(

i'll do you one better- while you're buying the lock, look for ones are KEYED THE SAME - it's stamped right there on the key- simplest to find are the 2 packs keyed alike, but you can find them in singles as well- i've got some 16 all keyed alike- one key on my everyday keys, one on my back-up, and the rest on a hook in my room

You set all the combinations the same.

I use combination trigger locks for all my firearms the require it and combination pad locks for all the cases that need them. Never had an issue and never forgot the single combination that opens all of them.

Keys get forgotten, or lost or whatever. A combination is in your brain. If you loose your brain, that you shouldn't have access to firearms anyway.

I get these for a buck apiece at shows. No keys or combos needed. Screw\ unscrew them with your thumb.

Trigger lock and locking case, but a friend got a MagVault and loves it. I may have to swtich.

If that thing had a combo lock instead of the key it would be the cat's ass. Maybe in the future.

+1. I have no keyed locks anywhere relating to firearms. Combo trigger locks all set the same, keypad entry safes all set the same, combo locks for the restricted cases all set the same. My ammo locker and powder storage also have combo locks. I have seen enough guys leave the range disappointed after leaving the keys at home that I will never have that happen to me.

Right now I'm using a combo trigger lock which fits in an exceptionally dubious manner. I've also got a Ruger padlock that just so happens to fit in the magwell when the lower is separated from the upper. I'm holding off buying a better fitting trigger lock, if such is even available, because I know if I go to the gun store I'll end up spending another six hundred bucks.
I'm debating just leaving the padlock on there, as I'd likely be storing and transporting it disassembled anyways. I figure from a legal standpoint the padlock is extra super-duper safe since it prevents the rifle from even being assembled into a state where it could be fired...in the eventuality that I'd ever need to flail around helplessly and cry while the police inspect it.
