Stevens 200....

Did you get that from me?

Boyds does make some nice stocks, I just don't like the thumbhole design at all.

Not sure but probably...I didnt have it in my notes as to buying it from you,but in my trader rating you gave me a positive...so it was probably you that sold me the stock..I really like it...its so cute and cuddly..:D:bigHug:

The 111 Package rifle isn't a lot more and you can get $50 for the takeoff scope easy. The Rifle Basix trigger is a great addition and costs less than getting a base model with Accutrigger. I did it to mine though I forgot to mention that in my previous post:redface: I like the DBM though it does slim the choices in after market stocks.

I have a .270 in the Savage 111 package. I use it for deer hunting and it looks pretty beat up. It will need a new stock eventually and probably a new scope. It's also one of the reasons i'm going with this project.

I own a Tikka, a Savage with the accutrigger and I have an Axis with a rifle basix trigger. The rifle basix is my fovorite. Not by much, but it breaks clean with no creep. Also if you by a Savage with a synthetic stock it will not compare to an aftermarket wood stock. So if you like to tinker you will end up with a far nicer set up by buying a stevens and building it yourself. That's my opinion anyway. I have a Savage 116 and I'm thinking about replacing the tupperware stock with a Boyds stock.

This Rifle will be getting a Bushnell Banner 6-18x50mm Dusk and Dawn i have aquired over the years and have never mounted it anything. Unfortunately I got it used and it did not come with the scope rings. Which rings will i need to buy to mount this scope onto the Stevens 200? The member i am purchasing it from says it has a weaver base.

Stevens 200

Have owned a couple different ones before. I like 'em.

Currently have one in .243 Win I just put in a Boyd's classic pepper laminate stock:

+1

Personally, I'm not a fan of thumbhole stocks, either.

I've had two Stevens now. I remember while they were in the vault with my late Rem 700 SPS over a two month period while I was away, the Rem was full of rust when I got back and not a spot on either of the Stevens. They out shot the Rem as well. I had them in Boyds stocks and both were tack drivers. I only got rid of them to make room for the DBM , stainless version (they go by a different name... Savage but are virtually the same). I would buy another in a heartbeat.

Looks like a Bushnell Trophy XLT to me. The rings are too high for that scope IMHO, whatever height they are. But of course everybody has their own preference:p

Guess my best bet would be patient and wait for the rifle to get here and go to a gunsmith. I have a set of medium mounts here, i'll give those a try and takr it from there maybe?

So many options... so little money!

My ring choice is based on when shouldering the rifle if my sighting eye comes right in line with the scope eye piece without further movement. Since it does & works for me, I haven't tried medium rings to see what difference would be except how it looks. But also not sure if the adjustable objective would be touching the barrel with the lower rings, either.
