HAHAHA I like this guy! Hey I got a deal for you, wanna buy my SKS $300 shipped its a "nice one" and ill throw in some used stripper clips HAHAHA you'll save on tax HAHAHA also you don't have to go through the arduous task cleaning out the cosmoline thats worth $50 right there HAHAHA Its a deal, its a steal, its the sale of the f*&$ing century!! HAHAHA

No thanks. I paid $230 shipped to my house (Russian laminated chrome lined) from a store and it's mint. 2 years ago I paid $169 for a mint russian tula refurb, chrome lined (from another store)... maybe they have gone up a little. They did in the 2 years that I purchased each one.

Buy the crate of ammo at Marstar + $75 for a SKS. Done.

Rocket, except for the first couple of years, the Russian SKS's have chrome lined
barrels as well, and in my opinion are a bit better built than the Chinese stuff.

I've owned like 6 SKS rifles and found the only real difference to be the wood stock on the russian ones are more pleasant to look at, but the rifles in general are harder to take down than the chinese ones.

Everybody listing stuff for sale on the EE is crazy because thier prices are too high. Especially stuff that I want to buy. On the other hand everybody that tries to buy anything I have listed on the EE are cheap buggers because all they do is lowball like crazy. I think that just about sum's it up.

I have bought alot on EE and all for fair/great prices. You always have jokers askiNg way to much for what they have but thats not just on here its life. I bought 2 tulas and an izzy laminate from the store near me for $169 each. If i were to sell them i would ASK for $150 and take $125 (you always ask for more than you really want). If you see something that is too overpriced just buy elsewhere. With guns like an sks i feel like they dont really go below a certian value ( if maintained) .

Different grades, different types, different markets and people are cheap. If it's too rich for your blood, move along, there's thousands out there.
My guess is the one's that can fill a gap in a collection go for a premium and people who are none the wiser think that their run-of-the-mill refurb is worth the same because it's the "same rifle" as the other one.

On a sub 200$ gun, there is no deals to do with used sks. I also think that a sks retain a certain value if properly maintained.

I think that you must consider shipping and taxes when you buy new. 15% + 30-40$ shipping is 60-70$ more.

For me a 200$ sks plus taxes and shipping will Cost around 270$. For a used one, a fair price would be 200$ shipped. That's a 25% saving vs a new one

The way I see it, if you are selling a firearm in a private sale, you don't charge the same thing retail/dealers are charging. You bought it, used it, fired it, cleaned it (maybe you didn't clean it at all or maintain it very good who knows), handled it, did who knows what to it.

If you sell the gun it is a used item in that respect I can not as a human being who understands basic economics, charge the same price I paid for it from a dealer.
Reasons being the gun isn't new so how can you ask someone to pay a new price for it? And most important, private sales are caveat emptor, buyer beware, no warranty.

Anyone can ask whatever they want for their property, that's the beauty of a free democratic system, but you sure can tell who is an idiot and who isn't after the smoke clears.

It also is usually the biggest factor seperating the adds in the EE as "please remove item sold" and "bump, bump, bump, bump".........

The biggest thing that people just don't get are taxes and shipping. Its not my problem you paid to ship it. I'm paying to ship it too, not recoverable.
And taxes. The government screwed you, not me. Last time I checked I wasn't covering the taxes buddy paid when buying his 2nd hand stuff. Prices should be less then msrp. End of story. Even if unfired, its not new, you unpackaged it, fondled it. Lol

We are talking about a "surplus" rifle. 99.9% have been fired... I bought a gorgeous Tula for $170+tax, someone was happy enough to take it off my hands for guess what... $170 when they saw it, shot it and saw how I took care of it. Hard to find a nice Russian for under $200 now.

Apparently I should have asked $50? You guys need to really get some common sense. If someone is asking too much money you move on. I got what I had invested in it, minus the taxes. Is that excessive? I am sure there are some rust buckets for under $100 out there for you EE lowballers...

These EE rants come up every week... and are a waste of time. PM the offenders.

Aye, that's why I never have any rifles for sale on the EE, they sell fast because I sell for sensible prices.

To this day I have not had to bump a single rifle I have sold. You'd be amazed what knocking $15 off the next guys lowest price on the EE can do for you ;)

SKS aren't worth more than $200 new. As soon as you get into used you hit corrosion issues and the price goes to s**t.

You do realize this is a surplus rifle... I see "new" is plastered in this thread. These are military surplus rifles... nothing new about them. They were made to shoot corrosive ammo. I shot 400rds of clean and corrosive, cleaned it properly and someone at my range paid what I had paid 2 years before. I lost the taxes. Beautiful stock, shot perfectly (let him shoot it), mint chrome lined bore... sold. Someone got a beautiful rifle.

Considering you can buy them everywhere for $200, who even cares what they go for on the EE. I wouldn't even think to look there for an SKS. Heck, maybe I'll pick up another one this weekend and give it to my cat.

im sure this is more than just about sks pricing. i see stuff go up on the EE all the time that says "i just want my money back, so *price* + tax + shipping = ......." the number on their receipt. i do agree tho, when you see an add with 3 or more bumps on it, the seller is probably a tight wad with no care for budging on their price. i had one guy that wouldnt budge 20$ on a price when i offered a local pickup when i was going to be in the area. anyways i have no problem just passing on something thats over priced, and theres lots of online shops to get a baseline new price just a couple clicks away.
