Norinco AR....What A Piece of Sh*T

I'm not sure if my choice of a Norinco AR over an American made DPMS is going to shrink the middle class further in this country. I believe there is alot more dynamics in the market place than just this. It all started with post war germany shipping inferior products from a war ravished economy. We got cheap junk, they got back on thir feet and look at them now! Then in the 60s along comes another economy pushed back into the stone age, Japan. We got our cheap fix with inferior products, while they slowly got back on their feet, and who can stand shoulder to shoulder with them in alot of areas.

In the last 20 odd years now it's China's turn. After years of being keep in the bo-bo ball closet and fed s**te from the likes of Stalin and Chairman Mao. We are getting our cheap fixes from them now, but if history repeats itself, a Norinco may be better than an H&K in 20 years. Who knows for sure.
I feel certain of this however right now in North America......

We ALL want everything, and we ALL want it NOW!. Consequently,... Enter the Dragon!;)

In Canada, unions regularly help put Canadians out of work, so at the end of the day someone has to do it.
And if it weren't for unions alot more people would be working for peanuts as well , "contract out for lower costs" comes to mind ........

1st Germany has never made cheap junk, even there most simplistic crap is made properly.

2nd HK will always be better than Norinco unless China buys HK and strips the company. Or Germany is over run by Turks or something cataclysmic happens in Europe.

3rd Japan always made quality products for the most part.

4th China does make some good stuff but they are under a different model of communism now mixed with capitalism/fascism/monopoly.

I've got lots of cheap West German toys and the like from the 50s made in a post Reich Germany struggling to rebuild. Maybe you haven't been around long enough to have seen the rebuilding of these post war Empires. My first repair wrench set for my bicycle circa 1968, was a Japanese set made out of fudge steel. Not Samauri sword or Yamamoto main armour belt quality, but the best they could do and peddle to us for a dime, till their industries were rebuilt.

There were a time when unions were good. Now they are greedy. If you get out in the real world and realize that non-unions jobs aren't festering pits of poor people you'll notice that they are the companies that are making a profit and not laying off people or closing shop to relocate somewhere where they can afford to do business.

I worked in a union job before and they were crooks. The company I worked for? Yea, they are closed now.

Been on both sides in the real world (contractor) , I guess that's why wal-mart is non union and they have great wages

I will stick with union thanks

Love my norincos too!

Japan used to make crap back in the days. They were just like China. Japan started taking American products and re-engineering them and worked on better QC. Eventually by the 60's, they were known for their quality.

Also back in the days, East Germany was known for making crap. So technically only half of Germany was pretty good..

Imagine how many Walmarts thee would be if they had to pay their door greeters $30 and hour and they went on strike every 3 months for more pay.

Made In Japan = cheap junk in the 60's and 70's.

This thread is hilarious.

I don't know whats more far fetched China invading the USA or them being a commie/capitalist fascist monopoly hahahaha.

China's relationship with the west is more complex than something that can be summed up in a single paragraph. It is very complex and China has a much different relationship with Canada than it does with the US. Canada and China are going to be BFF for a long time now that we are going to be selling them our energy. We can act all morally superior to them but they are sitting at the other end of the table doing the same thing. The biggest thing arm chair experts can do, is try and examine the perspective at play. We are so brainwashed by the USA that we are actually looking at positive things for us (Canada) in a negative light. According to USA, CHINA = BAD... and that is simply not the case. In fact without China, the USA would be a lot worse off right now than they already are. Canada has to realize that just like China, sometimes US foreign policy will negatively affect us. As the US pursues their own interests it will come at a cost to our country.

China and the west have a complex relationship by all accounts. China does want to be a friend to Canada, we have many things they need (natural resources) and no, our oil and natural gas will not be drying up in our life times.

On "slave" labor: I assume Leiber means low wage, horrible, unsafe, dirty working conditions... well Canada was built on that type of "slave" labor. The Chinese built our railroads, our miners and loggers were poor immigrants who were essentially exploited... shall I keep going? This still takes place TODAY despite what many would like to believe. Canada is famous for exploiting TFW's and there have been many articles written about this over the last few years. Most are migrant workers, but that doesn't make it right particularly if we are going to condemn China for it.

On Unions: They played a pivotal role in developing workers rights and laws governing all aspects of industrial relations over the past decades. Minimum wage laws, breaks, vacation, sick leave, maternity leave, workers comp, safer work environments, employer accountability, labor boards and etc etc are all the result of unions. They had a time and a place. Now that we have dedicated laws to the protection of workers and modern labor markets that essentially self regulate we no longer need them. They have contributed significantly to the demise of modern manufacturing in North America. Unions now have become a real problem to the economy and to capitalism as a whole. I really don't want to get into a long winded explanation about why unions are obsolete and contribute nothing of value to society any more but I will if need be.

China saw the emergence of its first labor unions two years ago. It was historical. China is a few decades behind us "workers rights" wise, but that is changing with the advent of strikes and employers caving to the workers demands. This is simply the evolution of their labor, we went through this as well. Canada didn't just start as a mecca of fair trade, good working environments and other nonsense. If people think China is so horrible, you should read up on the unions in Canada where police officers paid off by employers actually murdered people at protests.

Anyway I will continue to buy what I want, what meets my needs and not base my buying decisions on a flawed BUY AMERICAN campaign that to many Canadians are inadvertently being roped into. My norinco works well, and despite it being a sample of 1... well they probably produce more guns in a month than KAC, LMT and DD do combined in a year. If their products sucked that badly, third world dictators would be buying from the USA, France or Russia instead.

Very well put.

Honestly, I think the writing is on the wall that the major economic super power of the next generation WILL be China while the US (and possibly Canada) will:
-potentially degenerate into genocidal, bankrupt, totalitarian despots very similar to China in the early Mao years at worst, or
-break up into smaller sovereign states after a break up of the Union/Dominion due to horrible monetary mismanagement, or
-accept substantially lower living standards than most people alive could imagine as the levels of prosperity our nations enjoyed goes to China and other countries will economies based on productive output rather than debt monetization.

As for Norc AR's - my 3 Norcs have run very well, even with a fairly low round count in each of them (about 1200, 500, and 300 rounds of .223 and several thousand .22's each through a CMMG conversion).

I think Calgary Shooting Centre put a post up on Gun Owners that they've run 15,000 rounds through one and only had the charging handle latch pin break and need replacement.

As long as the liberals are against a strong Canada, and our 'powerhouse' provinces are liberal, we won't ever become a super power.

You should see how many liberals are still questioning not only why do we need F35's, they are questioning why we need a military. These are the same people that believe we don't need guns and ammo, and that the UN should be protecting us.

Sad.

It's not a matter of liberal or conservative. It's a matter of what role the government plays in society - and that is something all the political parties have in common. They all believe the government needs to act as a saviour of society from itself.

In that regard, it doesn't matter who is in charge - as long as people in government and the general public have that arrogant and unrealistic attitude, society will suffer.

I'm certainly not a liberal, but I don't believe the government should buy the F35's and I believe the military should be significantly scaled back. Personally, I'd like to see the military composition inverted, with a very large reserve force and a tiny, tiny regular force.

The fact that in general discourse, most people refer to the word "we" really shows how little of a chance Canada stands. When people say "we" they don't mean "<x> and I" they mean "the government and I," as in, they make an association that the government and them act in collusion with one another to bring about change.

You don't hear Chinese people use the world "we" very often, unless they've been brainwashed to think like most Canadians do. Chinese people think in terms of "me," "I," "you," and "they." That's a subtle but significant difference. These words delegate and define responsibility.

"We" abrogates personal responsibility. "We" says of the person saying it "I'm part of a collective." "We" when used in the context of societies problems is the most destructive and counter-intuitive phrase that empowers tyrants and subjugates free people.

Don't believe me? Watch this video and watch what the tyrant and the slaves are all saying.

That is a big mystery.

The actual gun used in a violent killing spree that initiated the gun control agenda in Canada, is the one gun that escaped the prohib list and even the restricted list... even though it has been repeatedly described by the anti's as a semi automatic baby killer.

Really boggles the mind. AK, AR and FAL, never used in a killing spree are all prohib and restricted. Ruger was used to kill people and its the one gun left off the list when gun control comes in.

Any theories?

My theroy is simple math. They looked at what was owned and the numbers and they divided us many allowed the rest of us to go under the bus.

To go after the 14 they would have signaled that all other semis were on the list.

IMHO they were just in waiting mode before they dropped the hammer, but to late the figured out the real price they were paying.

OK, just to be fair, would everyone who has an Iphone, Ipod, Apple Computer, Samsung smart phone or Chrysler motor vehicle, please drop out of the conversation. It's not so long since Chrysler was warned to either increase the number of non-Chinese parts in it's cars, or mark them made in China. Apple's products are all made in China, as are Samsung's smart phones. It's a global economy, there is no way to win. Unless of course you buy an NEA.

Theres a difference between buying guns from China, and buying toliet seats from China. Toliet seats I use to take a crap on. Guns well that a part of my life and im not gonna waste it on China. that said do what yah want.

Bushmaster ACR Leads the way.
