I'm a huge fan of the 44MAG and the 44Spl, for me plinking with 44spl loads is just plain fun.
Are those rounds shown crimped yet? Since I load pretty hot sometime, the crimp is really evident.
Also, very nice HP Cast. Just plain cool!

They are 240 gr and I cast them myself. I don't hink they're available commercially.
They are crimped into a cannelure.
It's based on the old Lyman 429640 mould. MP Moulds made some with a Cramer HP system for a group buy on Cast Boolits.com recently. That's where I got this one.

I love the 44 Spec. Have 5 of them so far (Colt SAA and NF, S&W 624 6.5" and 3", original Charter Arms Bulldog). And that's not counting the 44 mags that you can shoot the Special in as well. Great cartridge. I like the looks of those bullets. I think I have to go find one of those molds. - dan
You could also get a pentagram style pin for the mold as well as a flat pin so from the same mold you can have a circle hollow point, a 5 sided hollow point or no hollow point. I can't recommend his molds more than to say they are first rate quality and an absolute joy to use.
I can actually crank out more hollow point bullets with his 2 cavity molds than I can with any Lyman 4 cavity solid mold. Once you pour the lead and the sprue hardens you simply cut the sprue, turn it over, tap the pins and out come the beautiful bullets.
With the typical Lyman 4 cavity you pour the lead, cut the sprue, turn it over and begin to hit all over the mold with your stick, bow three times to the east, exhaust your swear vocabulary and maybe if you are lucky the bullets will come out. I am exaggerating a bit but once you use a high quality mold like Miha's your Lyman molds will get moth balled to the back of the cabinet.

JetHunter: would love to get some of those HP cast bullets. I am now finishing up loading one of the best 44 special bullets of all time. It is the 180 grain full wadd cutter bullet, mould # 429348.
Like firing a full wadd cutter in the 38special case, this 180 is a great target round and has mild recoil with the right load. I'm using 4.0 grains of PROMO, aka RedDot, in 44 special cases. I wish I had more of these gems. My pal Rick P. at RandRBullets.com made them for me but has retired the mould.

This mould came with 3 sets of pins - penta pins, small HP pins, and large HP pins. The bullets in the pictures weren made with the large HP pins. Flipping any of the pins around also gives you a solid.
I have several MP moulds. They're very good.
