You Absolute Favorite Gun / Ammo? Newbi Asking

Any one of my .308's... but oddly enough, I have a very accurate H&R Ultra break action single in .308 that keeps tagging along on trips when my expensive bolt actions are dusting the gun cabinet... go figure?!?!?

.450-400 Nitro Express ... because every time I even look at it, I get lost in all the things it conjures up.

Just another 379 more sleeps until it goes buffalo, lion and elephant hunting ... Not that I'm counting :D

The one me pa blessed and left behind.
Good ole Schultzie............ does me proud to pack it
and put more memories into her.
There are others, but if I had to pick one and only one,
this 308 Norma would be the one.

I think I need a change of undies! It doesn't get any nicer than that.

out of all the guns I have owned my favorite has to be the first REAL hunting rifle I bought, bought it from robinson sporting goods in victoria b.c.

Browning A-Bolt Stainless Stalker, barrel cut down to 22" chambered in .338 win mag. shooting 250gr nosler partitions.

I killed everything on vancouver island with it.... from 100lb deer to grouse :) :)

That was a while ago, now the back wall of Robinson's is fully of fluffy camping clothes and firearms is a dirty word.

back in 1992-93... somewhere there. bought with a brown FAC card that was applied for issued the same day by the local detachment in Ucluelet.... no waiting period back then for a FAC, paid the $25 and got the card hand typed by the issuing officer.

:)X2 on your choice of make and calibre. A Schultz & Larsen model 65DL in 308 Norma Magnum. I'd post a couple of photos but Photobucket is TU for me at the moment:rolleyes:.

My savage muzzle loader. It has been filling tags for over a decade. It is no 500 yd sniper rifle but under 200 yards it does its job.

My favourite centerfire is my ne vanguard s2 in 7 08. It has'nt seen a hunting season yet but it is probably the easiest handling best shooting sporter barreled rifle I've ever shot.

You're half right.

Husqvarna, yes. But in 9.3x62, like mine. It's really sad to see so many guys completely wrong on this question.

This is going to be the greatest CGN brawl thread, ever!:D

And you sir are only 2/3 right. Husqvarna in 6.5 x 55 was the correct answer!

:)True enough. ;) I'm thinking we should start a club :p. My Schultz & Larsen does well on paper also.

Bit of a side issue but I got an antlered Mule Deer draw for Alberta this year and another Schultz will get the call this time. My model 68DL in 7x61 S&H.

In addition to my preference for Schultz & Larsen, also I have a soft spot for nice Husqvarnas. I've fairly recently acquired a Sako in 270 Win with Mannlicher style stock,;) which hasn't yet made it into the photo of my Northern European Connection.

And the 'Connection' below, from the top down;
  • Husqvarna model 3000 in 270 Win.
  • Husqvarna model 4000 LW in 30-06
  • Husqvarna model 1651 in 358 NM
  • Schultz & Larsen model 68DL in 7x61 S&H
  • Schultz & Larsen model 65DL in 308 NM
