Mine seems to be in need of being bent a little so it stays in its little notch. It seems to be riveted to the receiver. My 858 is armacoated so I'd rather not mess it up.

got a pic of the inside ? im not quite clear what you mean .
He means that his trigger bar is bent out of shape.
Unfortunatly the only way to repair this is to drill out the set pin and install a new 1 then tac weld it back into place.

Hes talking about this part:

Which you are not going to want to spot weld, otherwise you will not be able to get the trigger and sear pins out. I would suggest drilling it out and replacing it with a small allen screw that you loctight.

I also think that making a rivet with a steel pin of appropriate size can be quite easy. Riveting 1 end, installing through the locking lever and the receiver and rivet the outside to finish.

how about using a regular small rivet to holding the locking "T" plate in place ?

thanks shawn for the pic.

Thanks gentlemen. This seems to be above my pay grade. I live in an apartment, I have very few tools, no vise, no experience with making rivets and such. It looks like it's going to the gunsmith after all.

This part has been the cause of all the problems I've had with this rifle. It's gotten so loose I can move it out of locked position by shaking the rifle.

Can you explain how to do that in more detail. I just don't get it for some reason.

No problem, it was already in my photobucket account :D

I don't know what the hole is like under that, I have never had it off. Would a normal rivet work in a hole that has no edge and doesn't go all the way through? Like a regular drilled hole.

You might be able to use a pair of needle nose pliers. Just get in under the place where the arrow is in my pick and bend it towards the rifle, that should snug it up.

Mine did the same thing to the point of slowing the pin to fall out. I cleaned it well and put a dab of purple Loctite on it. It's seen another 500rds and it hasen't budged.
