Steyr M9A1

I have 3 friends that have all told me to avoid the Glock - I haven't fired one myself - the guy that has one that my friends shoot with I don't know well so I haven't had a chance to try the Glock.

I used to be big time anti Glock guy. But it grew on me. I like Steyr and Glock as well. one of the reasons I sell HK USP here.

I just bought a Steyr M9A1 from Wanstalls last week.

Fantastic service, prompt delivery.

As you've probably figured out, it's damn near impossible to find a Steyr to shoot before you've bought it - I bought mine based on specs and reviews alone and so far I am very happy with my purchase.

As others have said, magazines, accessories and parts will be hard to come by, but all can be procured over the internet with a little patience.

It's the best fitting grip I've ever felt on a pistol, the low bore axis really reduces muzzle flip and I love the (apparently controversial) trap sights.

IMHO you'll not find a better, cooler looking pistol for the money, and you will be the only one at the range who has one. Why buy what everyone else has?

I've been talking about buying a Steyr with one of my buddies - he suggested it to me - anyway - he bought one - so I will get to try it out! I think I'm sold on it anyway - but it will be fun to shoot first and buy later!

Digger,

I am currently shooting an M9-A1, its great.

I have owned two other pistols a XD-45 and a Para-45 Nite-Tac,

I have shot Browning Hi-Power extensivly in service, as well as some shooting with Sigs.

To date my favorite pistol is the Steyr.

I love its feel, the grip complaint is laziness, put something on it. But other then that the Ergos are great.

I like the Trap Sights, I would not want to replace them with anything else and I have shot Trijicon Night's.

I have shot almost 1000 rounds and have had only one FTE, and that was handloads.

I really like the look,

I can shoot well with it, its different and not everyone owns one.

I like the trigger, it fine,

Honestly I think that with most pistols, they will out shoot the shooters 95% of the time unless your hot ####e. So if you get one a practice then I bet you will be better then many glock owners ect.

End of the day for me, it looks good, its reliable, its fun to shoot and accurate... ya good luck!
