EESA Zombie Apocalypse 2012 Multigun (Update Post 31)

it's going to be years before I feel confident enough to go and still make a fool out of myself :p I watch the TV footage and I know I'm not ready for most of those matches yet.

What you see on TV are the "professional shooters"... The vast majority of participants are just regular Joe's.
'Like this regular Joe who completely f**K's up a stage at last years FNH...

Well, I can tell you that timing out is pretty discouraging. When that par time beeps, it's like someone holding up a big blinking red sign that says FAIL.

Dude... You're far too sensitive. :D

I think the goal of the par time should be to keep the match moving, not to differentiate good shooters from bad shooters.

That IS the goal of par time... At least that's why we've started using it. Generally we guess-timate the average to slowest time it should take and then add in a buffer.... Believe me we're as generous as is practical. Like I mentioned befor... Shooters "time out" because they waste time shooting at targets they are having trouble with. It's not the par time that's the problem... It's the shooters inability to manage his time.

I think the stage should be designed so that a high proportion of people won't time out.

Then we're back to dumbing down stages... Again par time isn't the problem...
I'll give an example.
At the 2012 TH3GC.. Yes, several shooters timed out on stage 3.
Y'wanna know why...?
Because like I've already mentioned... They just wouldn't give up on targets they couldn't hit... Mind you the target was an MGM autopopper at a whopping 40 yards with a rifle.
Also... many people have difficulty dealing with stoppages and reloading... As MD's are we supposed to factor in every lacking skill when calculating a par time..?

I think we can probably agree it's nicer if most people get a chance to shoot at all the targets.

Well if they'd f***in' hurry up they would..:D
Unfortunately we don't have the luxury of the time it takes. If you want to limit sign ups to ten shooters per match... Great, everyone can take 15min, to shoot a stage....

Yeah I know... no worries, I don't take offense at that. I expect it :)

It's gonna get worse....:D:D:D

Here's what you guys need to build in terms of shooting platform

How about rigging up one of those old motel vibrating beds! :dancingbanana:
This thread has convinced me I've got to start working harder on getting my club to put one of these events on. The number of us at Galt with the gear and the interest are growing and EESA and TH are providing the inspiration!

Amended scoresheet posted. Unfortunately we had some conversion errors between excel 2010 and a free version of excel...this killed some links and nested formulae that was needed to display the cover page properly. Please let me know if there is any other errors

Yup those are the ones. I am not disappointed with my time considering my shotgun f'up and parred me out on the first shotgun stage. I then borrowed a shotgun that had a different sights on it which screwed me up in a different way for the rest of the match. lmao. Looking forward to the next time! My AR and pistol were doing well to keep me from completely ruining the match.

This is like an addiction. I can't stop thinking of piecing all three guns together for a great match. Can't wait for another. Wife and kids come first so I should be around 50 when I can compete at a much higher level. :)
